I would love to have a custom title, even if it isn't the actual title for the rank, I really don't like being a black suit if you will...

I want to be seen as a person nobody else can be & on a internet forum, an easy way for that to happen would be to have my own custom title I myself decided on but with that said, I am actually alright with the system in place otherwise I mean, post count doesn't matter so I don't care what titles I get when getting a certain amount of posts anyway...

I do consider myself to not be a new member but I have a long ways to go before I am a veteran member as I will call them which are really people who have been around for years & so on, I basically come to the forums for the community to converse with it's people in various ways so in short, I don't really dream of attaining any existing rank that anyone has here, meh...

I had the same thought when I was thinking of the rank I wanted.

None of my posts have been n00bish ... I've simply been misunderstood. Yeah, that's it ... misunderstood.

I suppose the ability to customize your title might be nice. Maybe, as you say, after 1K posts or so. The only problem I see is someone posting 1K messages with little or no content then giving themselves a title like "ai r001z u a11" or some other lamebrained, leet-speek, pile of claptrap. Oh, I suppose it could be set up so that a moderator could change their custom title to something else and lock it. But then all we've done is created more needless work for the mods. Don't get me wrong, I firmly believe the majority of people who post a lot on here, and have done so over a longer period of time, are more than capable of selecting a good title. But it would only take a couple of rotten apples (so to speak).

I think that Psypoke currently has an excellent system in place. You earn your rank as you go along. I'm good with that.

Moderators should definitely be the only ones capable of making custom ranks. What you said is true. I think it would annoy a lot of Psypoke users if someone who had posts with no substance got to 3,000 posts and obtained the option to customize his/her rank. And the whole 'Mod goes in and changes the rank then locks it' thing is what I think pretty much happens when someone goes up in rank normally, except it goes automatically. I may be wrong, but that's what I think.

I do have to say though, that this has been an interesting thread. If nothing else, we got the link to the "Brief History of Psypoke". And, I guess I did come up with an appropriate custom rank if I had the option ... "Pokémon Fossil"

Haha it has been an interesting thread so far. I can't decide on a custom rank. I don't really do one thing on Psypoke. For example, Mektar having the title "Art Commentator". So, for now I'd choose Gym Leader. Like I said earlier, the only thing I would want to do as a Moderator would be to watch over one or two sections of the forum, locking or moving threads and providing help.

If I became an admin, I would just want to keep the rank I have now, since I won it at trivia last year

I'd be a terrible mod on any forum, mostly because I wouldn't care enough to stop shenanigans.

I'm happy just being a regular member, nah mean?
