Here's how it happened.
I was at work today, in the back of the batting cage (behind a netted off area), and I was walking back out of the cage. I wasn't thinking about the other guys that were still batting. Well, one of them hit a softball and it came lunging right at my face. It hurt a lot, and I didn't know what to do, so I was just cursing like you wouldn't believe. Good thing there were no children around.
I had to call the owner, and he asked me if I should go to the hospital. I wasn't sure what to do, so I said I was going to go, just to be safe. I had to wait for my mom to get out of work and have someone replace her for the day, then she took me up to the emergency room. After being up there for about 3 hours, they told me my bone around my cheek (more around the bone that is around my eye) has been fractured. I'm supposed to set up an appointment with an ear, nose, and throat doctor, and also an eye doctor just to be safe. My eye is really sore right now, and it hurts to look straight up.
Guess it's a good thing I have today and tomarrow off...

SS, this isn't the first time someone got hurt in there, but mine is the worst. Judging by your injuries, it's funny that they call it "soft" ball. Well, hope you get better soon and that this time will be your last softball incident.

Anyway, I went to the eye doctor today, and they said my eye should be ok, which is good.
I went to the ear, etc. doctor though, and he said I'm gonna need surgery, or my cheek bone will cave in. I guess they're gonna call me tomarrow and tell me what day next week they're going to do it. ouch..i hope you will be alright. Well, atleast your arm/legs wernt fractured. but still, thats a big injury. hope you feel better.

My mom just called today, and he said it wouldn't be before Sept. 7 before he can get it done, since I guess he's going on vacation...

Uh, yeah. This happened a month ago. Even my bloodshot eye has cleared up since.
