According to somewhere in the Bible when these last two popes die the revelation starts. I'm not sure how accurate that is, I know papersun is a close follower, maybe he could help.

no thats not true no where in revelations does it mention exactly when the end of age will come...only that it's coming.

and for those of u interested, there was this tv special on USA (the cable channel) a while back called "revelations" about the end of age. it was like a miniseries drama kinda thing not anything near serious or realistic, but i thought it was pretty darn cool.

and just to get back on topic, no bill gates is NOT the anti-christ. he's done some brilliantly things like buying off dos and making it ms-dos...taking xerox's icon idea and actually implementing it...entering the console market and doing a pretty dam good job of making the presence felt (the halo phenomenon)...but i have no idea where antichrist fits into all that.

and another thing. why does everyone think that the anti-christ is some almighty figure whose power is simply defined as (God's power - 1) ?? the antichrist has nothing to do with a powerful ruler or some kind of a demonic ritual. in revelations, it just defines anti-christ as one who will deny that christ is the messiah and died for the sins of the world. the status quo of the world it seems contains a lot of antichrists if u ask me...

Anti-christ? No. Terrible person? Yes. Gates bought off DOS, a wonderfully stable OS, and built windows around it.... stable no more. Icons... I don't have a single icon on my desktop. Looks cluttered, messy.

Oh, and for about the 20-billionth time: GATES, nor Microsoft, had NOTHING to do with Halo. It was made by Bungie, a 3rd-party developer, without Microsoft at all. All MS did was provide the hardware. The game could have come out on the PS2, GCN, or PC, and it would have been the same. Halo made the Xbox, not the other way around.

And anyone whose company produces a console with a controller that's larger than my monitor is close enough to the anti-christ that it wouldn't hurt to live without them anyway.

Matthew 24:36 spells it out pretty clearly:

"But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only." (emphasis added)

The day and hour which Jesus is referring to is when he will return to earth and save His followers . . . but as to the actual Tribulation itself? The book of Daniel talks about what will start that in 9:27:

"For one week the foreigner (which is to say, the Antichrist) will make a firm covenant with many people, and halfway through this week, he will end all sacrifices and offerings. Then the 'abomination that causes desolation' will be put there. And it will stay there until the time God has decided to destroy this one who destroys."

Sounds to me like Antichrist will be a politician. PM me for my COMPLETE thoughts on the topic and my opinion of what the metaphors all mean; I'm not sure this is the place.

sry if i created the confusion that microsoft made halo. although bungie was the development team, microsoft purchased the entire frickin company prior to the development of halo (originally intended for the mac and then pc, never GCN or PS2). although bungie is in name, still autonomous, they really are just another department of microsoft gaming studios. which is why it says: "

Halo was made by the people who made up Bungie corp before Microsoft ever owned it. If I had the money, I could go out and buy Microsoft 3 months before Longhorn ships. Does that mean I made Longhorn? No. I didn't do squat. The people at Microsoft made it; I just bought them out and slapped my name on their product!

Do you think that Nintendo made the Gamecube themselves? That they're making the Revolution themselves? Of course not. The graphics chip is being made by ATI. Intel's making the processor. But it'll still ship under the Nintendo name, not "The Intel/ATI Revolution!" Just because a company buys another company, or has another company make a product for them, doesn't mean that they made anything they release themselves. Microsoft didn't do a thing to make Halo. All they did was say "This looks good. You're working for us now. Get it done faster, and working on this hardware." Nothing more.

I stated that first. And I'm QUITE sure you'll buy out a small African country for 30 billions dollars or so. People will flock to it if resources are good. All he needs to hit is a place with water, wind, and soil.

"Day" is capitalized, referring to the return of Christ. I definately agree that the anti-christ will be a politician, though. My thoughs are that he will come out of the UN. reasons: UN is corrupt, UN is alot of countries joining together, UN is gaining more power over its different members, did i mention how corrupt the UN is (we had a squad file for debate about 3 inches thick of different articles reporting the UN's numerous corrupt dealings).

Actually the bible states that the rapture will happen within a generation (which can be 20-100 years) after IsrAEl became a nation. And since IsrAEl became a nation in 1949, it is destined to happen slightly before 2049...

Still, I do not think that Bill Gates is the Anti-Christ, considering the bible sates he must be born in Jerusalem (sp?) and come out of Egypt. For a good insight on what to look out for, try the "Left Behind" series by Jerry B. Jenkins and Tim LaHaye. These books are not exact, but offer good insight on what the Anti-Christ will be like and what we should look out for.
