Post subject:  An old aquaintance well revisited

Hi, I once was a regular at the Psypoke of old, before so many of the more senior of our members left and I myself came to be bored with Pokemon. Not the games, perhaps, but the idiotically immature marketing schemes and methods Nintendo uses to promote the show, most obvious in hand being the TV show. It made being a 15yr old into Pokemon such an embarrassment.

That was nearly three years ago and while I have grown up much since then and found new passions in life, of late and most notable in form are Art, Acting and Writing. It seems I have become most rooted in the humanities. However, new family amends and additions have presented to me the chance to extend my already well-swelled cased of senioritis by way of a Gameboy Advance and pokemon FireRed and I must say I am for once proud of Nintendo for a job well done.

I was a fan of the old games because they didn't push the morality and immature nature of the "core demographic" like the later games did. No, the story line was solid, if basic, and there was room for your own interpretation. I haven't played through much of the game, being only just arrived in Viridian City but I must comment that the remakes are quite enjoyable and feel very natural to an old fogie like me. I easily beat my way through the G/S/C series until boredom struck them into closet dust and tried to somehow work up a liking of Ruby and Sapphire so I was not fully ignorant of the new additions and features but they feel so much more natural and innate in the new games. I am a fan again, if only for the games.

This is why I have returned. A small part for actual enjoyment of the games but mostly in part of nastalgia. I miss the old Psypokes and while I am sure most are gone for good, I have faith and some evidence that a few remain. If such is the case, anyone who remembers ClawzSS, Chase or Chase2, please present yourself and say so.

I missed you guys.

Really nice to see you again, Clawz. Always a good day when one of the old members returns.

I'm not really into Pokemon anymore, but I'm still here for the community (and I have nothing else to do. See why you should go out and do something, kiddies? Don't want to end up like poor FW, do you?).

Anyway, it's great to have you back again, hope you stay for a while. :)

Hello Clawz,

You might remember me as KingNidoking, that was my name back in the day. Anyways, similar to you and F_W, I've lost almost all interest in Pokemon, and have found my real passion in life (film-making), but I feel comfortable here in the community, so until I have to move on and leave school to face the real world, I'll stick around here. Anyways, glad to have you back, and see you after so much time.

Hey, welcome back Clawz! I certainly remember you; I hope you remember me. Anyway, as FW said, any day when an old member returns is a great one. Great to have you back.

Lol, how could I forget you Nido? You were one of my better friends back then. Film-making, eh? Awesome! I may work with you one day, then! My own passion is in the humanities, as I said, but particularly for acting. Matter of fact, I am leaving for Winthrop University next fall to double major in Theatre Perfmance & Graphic Design/Illustration. I am also getting ready for our next play; Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night". But yeah, I hope to go to grad school for Game Design and Screen Acting and maybe one day meld the two into a career (I made my own sig, so that's a start.)

Eighteen, a new aquaintance is always a pleasure. Your name is quite ambiguous and leaves much room for mystery so I am not of sure memory about you but I am pleased to know you welcome me.

TCM, of course I remember you, who could forget? Its good to see these old faces (or names, at least) but yours stayed with me even in my absence.

Helloz. Damn, this is the third thread you've started that I've responded to. Weird o.O

Also, Hi! :) We weren't the best of chums back then (that Darryn thing... rofl), and I was hardly the most tolerant of people. Anyways, nice to see ya again :waddle dee smilie:

Right, hello everyone. I used to be a Psypoke regular too, years ago when I was, oh, twelve or so. I was an immensely irritating little punk who went by the name of Kill_Gary. Dunno if any of you remember me, but if you do, it was probably a less-than-wonderful memory. At any rate, I'm back too, but hopefully better behaved this time around. And hey, Clawz, nice to see you. Now if only I knew where Wolfbane got off to...

Yeah, I haven't seen Darkmind, Jesse, Bulby or Wolfy. I could prolly call Jesse or DM but those long-distance charges are killers.

I remember you, too, lol. You were about as irritating as me.

darkmind - Obviously, she's still lurking around.

Wolfy - Gone, and probably not coming back.

Bulby - Gone, and definitely not coming back.

Jesse - Gone, and might pop in for an appearance if she wants.

Meh, I didn't really keep in touch with anyone from Psypoke after I left/got chased off. I tried to talk to Pokechild a couple times, talked to Bulbasaur once or twice on AIM. How long's it been, anyway? Lessee, when I first joined Psypoke, I'm pretty sure it was a UBB forum, and I was eleven. I'm seventeen now, so that would be six years ago that I first joined. I stayed for about three years and left, then came back just now. Can anybody else remember when they first joined?

Yeah, I joined at the beginning of the first EZBoard.
