Thanks for that advice, but I really don't know what to practice. I mean, I check out books on learning guitar from the library, but I don't know where to start.

I seem a little out of my league in this thread even if someone else plays the same thing I do.

2010 Show: A friend of our director wrote all the music but songs that were written in include
Toccata - Carpimus Noctum (pain in the ass to spell)
Tales Of The Crypt by Danny Elfman (wrote The Simpsons theme song)
Thriller by Michael Jackson. The band does the dance and I'm a part of the group that does the side to side stuff and the shimmy part. Theme of this years show is Suspense, including a fake death (snare drummer kills a color guard member)

2011 Show: Band Director's friend wrote all arrangements again. I'm marching with a Bass clarinet and we have a girl marching with a bari sax, also adding keyboards... we've never had those instruments in marching band until this year.
Our show theme is "From Mercury to Mars". We're playing Queen music and integrating Robert Holst's "Planets" music with 2 songs.
Part 1 is We Will Rock You and the Mars portion of the "Planets" pieces.
Part 2: Somebody to Love
Part 3: Fat Bottomed Girls (the intro... yes I'm in a HS marching band lol) and 2 measures of Flash Gordon. The remainder is a Pit solo.
Part 4: The final piece is Strauss' tone poem Also Sprach Zarathustra (later used as the theme for 2001: A Space Odyssey) and then transitions to Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody and finishes with Holst's Jupiter.

yessir this is one hell of a show for a band of only 30 marchers, 7 Pit players, and 5 color guard members.

As of today I am a drummer.

I play the french horn and a little piano. I like to compose some songs as well.

I play Drums. I got grade 5 at drums and im in a band at the moment.

I play bass, ive only been playin for a while (something like 8 months). Im not amazing, note eight months, but i play a few songs with my friends sometimes, only simple stuff like devour and sunshine of your love though.

I play guitar, I've been playing a little over 2 months. Apparently I'm really good, I should have started playing earlier in my life though. Who knows, maybe by now I could have been a rockstar.

Ya I have been playing guitar for around three years. I kinda play piano too. I'm in two bands atm. One is a metal/rock band with the other being a acoustic guitar duo.

but mainly i just play guitar been playing for around 2 years now
in the spring this year i toured and played synth in a hardcore band before we ended up breaking up
and ive played guitar for two bands but we've never really gotten anywhere
i want to get better on drums im the worst at them i just know basic stuff

Yeah, & I was good at it too but I am a bad teacher so I clearly can't teach people anything pertaining to anything I am able to do, though I am now considering getting into learning how to play a keyboard so that I can make music for the games I plan to make in the future myself, yep...

Well I play marimba, xylophone... pretty much anything in that category. I can also do percussion and a teeny bit of flute. Also I play in my school's indoor drumline
