I didn't think it was possible, even for the administrators to do it, but it'd be best to check.

It is possible IF the site admin activates the "Change Username" feature, which is rather unlikely. There would be mass confusion. I have disallowed username changes on my forum.

Admins can most deffinately do it. They can also edit post counts, sigs, avatars, and anything else you can think of. They can do it all.

Correct!
If you are using phpbb2:
ACP>User Admin>Management>Select User>Change Username>Submit
It does cause confusion as stated, so I wouldn't recommend it.
However, Editing post count without Deleting posts however requires a special MOD, short for MODification.
MOD is not to be confused with Moderator however. With all the MODs out there, and the phpbb Devoloping Team, an Admin can do just about anything in their forum.

We'd preferably like you stay on your current username, but if you really really really really really must, we may do it for you. I just don't want a whole bunch of people nagging the admins to change their usernames.
