This is a story that I wrote on the fly. Nothing bad in it, but it's pretty sad.
This is just a one-shot, so no more new chapters.
The third week of May, the hottest one. She entered the store with all of her friends, laughing and giggling, avoiding the problem. They looked at one, two, maybe three dresses until she found the right one. “That looks great” “Just your color” her friends would say. It was black, one ribbon coming down the front, in the color pink. It matched the rose that she was to carry, she wanted to look as great as possible. So did her friends, they all wanted to be remembered with the same happiness and joy. But she had a different story, a much different story. She walked past two aisles, she started to cry. “Not in front of them.” She’d say to herself softly, sort of consoling herself, although it never really worked, the inevitable was near. “Why are you crying?” They asked her, with perplexed looks on their faces. “Oh, I was thinking of what a great time I’m going to have with you.” The grin on her face was re-assuring, but it was an open wound to her.
The big dance was tomorrow, she couldn’t wait, neither could her friends, it was going to be the best night of her life. She didn’t have a date, no, but she would be with the people she loved.
She bought the dress, her mom’s credit card. This was the last time she would use it, but all for a good cause. The big dance was the next night, and she couldn’t wait.
The next night came; she wasn’t there, her friends called many times. After a long night of dancing, they went to her house. Up to her room, fourteen steps exactly, it was her fourteenth birthday in two days.
They went into her room; her mom let them in, a look of despair on her face. They rushed to her bed, all holding their heels, and their corsages on wrists. “What, what happened?” They would ask repeatedly, her mom was out of the room, on the top of the stairs, crying. The inevitable came and passed.
The girl was wearing her dress, her black dress with the pink ribbon, holding a pink rose in her hands. A note was on her nightstand.
It read: Hello, if you are reading this. I’m dead. Please leave me in this dress at my funeral. The big dance is tonight, and I’m not going. I’ve had a chronic disease for a while and I was due to die tonight. So here I lie. Please know I did this not to hurt you.
She was wearing the dress from the store. They all got their dresses from the same store. They were shopping for the big dance. She was shopping for her funeral.
Please comment.

Wow, pretty good, especially for a one timer.
BUT
No offense, it sounded like half the chain letters I get on myspace. Really. But, it's still good.
