This is your run-of-the-mill poetry corner.If need be by all means delete this thread.......

I'll start off :

Lost admist the torrent of the mainstream cries but one voice. The voice of a child,unheard and lost it is. Though young in years it is ancient in wisdom though lost it remains untill such a time as it reaches maturity. At such time the voice loses it's wiisdomic edge and becomes that againts which it fought.

The path of great winds. The Grand Stream.
What lies in the furthest depths of one's memory?

The place where all are born and where all will return. A blue star.

The poem is a little political so if anyone doesn't like what it stands for please tell me and i'll remove it but here it is:

Crimson Red is hate, a pool of blood welling
Beneath the body of a fallen enemy,
The body of a tyrant, a dictator,
A leader.

Bleach White is supremacy, dominating,
Controlling, penetrating,
Glowing bleakly,
A clinical and sterile
Look at the future.

Midnight Blue is depression, a deep, endless
Well of dark knowledge and impossibilities.
Darkness, rolling, and twisting,
And lapping, and mixing.
Deathly and futile thoughts.

This flag

Rayquaza1990: Very beautiful. I missed a bit because I didn't have a dictionary close to get some words. A bit sad though, but still beautiful.

Undeadcutlet: Creative and interesting. I like this kind of political poems.

Both: Keep up the good work, your poems are very nice.

Ok.....these will sound weird.......but they are about weapons........

Upon this instrument of icy oblivion thy fragile fingers doth play a frozen melody so sweet and pure even the heavens bow to listen.
~~Ballad of the Wind Rod

Within this object thy passion burns. Thy raging heat threatens all to whom I'm not tied.
~~Bolero of the Flame Blade

Thy infinate strength doth fill this gentle lance. Swiftly art thou to hinder their forthcomings.
~~Sonata of the Earth Lance

Into this solemn rath thy wisdom doth infiltrate. The power to defy even the forces of nature thy wisdom doth cost much.
~~Serenade of the Water Bow
~~~~Later dubbed the the Serenade of the Human Mind
I never made a poem before, but here goes:
If only she knew how I felt about her,
Her eyes made me melt,
Her smile kept me awake for many nights,
If only she knew how I felt about her,
I'd walk on fire to see her,
I'd even kill for a kiss,
I just wanted her to know !
Perhaps she already did, and I was just to slow !
I saw her on her bike last day,
she was smiling,
so close and yet so far away,
oh, if only she knew how I felt about her !
I got got mad for not being with you, I know it's not smart
Now you are out of my sight, but not out of my heart..
I think you all know what inspired me to create my poem :twisted:
No I'm not anti-USA or anything, it's more anti first world, capitalist, countries and how they expect they can do anything in this world and get away with it. I really hate it when people force their ideals on other countries, for example when the USA went around wiping out communist countries, simply because they were communist. Or even when people make war because of religion, because they want to convert or destroy other religious groups. I believe that people are allowed to be who and what they want to be. And though great atrocities were comitted in some communist countries, that isn't a reason to wipe out all communist countries. What if one of those countries was on their way to the perfect society, but were going through a rough time? We'll never know.
Yeah, the whole Iraq thing was really blown out of proportion. After clearly denying the UN's wishes, I don't think they deserve a place on the central council thingy. The only thing that keeps them there is their money.
Please keep to the topic, everyone- as much as we'd all love to see a vicious flame war break out over the US invasion of/freedom mission to Iraq, this is a poetry topic ;) If you feel the need to continue talking about the war as its own subject, without relating it directly to protest poetry or other fiction appropriate to this thread, please take it to GD or PMs.
Here's my poem on...
WAR
What is it good for?
Are we going to destroy ourselves?
Realize that we're destroying humankind.
Cutting swiftly through the swirling darkness comes a faint screech.
Female, surely!
Pained ,defenately!
Helpless but to listen,the fear wells.
Call for help, Musn't!
Ignore it, Cannot!
Panic's deadly talons sink effortlessly into the tired mind.
Silence drifts across the gap and sheer terror erupts.
The cold silence,thicker than the darkness fuels a burning imagination.
Images frozen eternally,flood through the gate.
Peace dwells within this panic as slowly the grip on the world fades and into darkness slips the shriek and all it's being.
For it always worsens just before the silence.
Wow... Really good poems everybody. Mine, is about ancient Egypt, i was an assignment from school. I like it. If you're confuse about some of the terms, just ask me.
Gracefully, the Glowing orb of Thoth, moon sparked glory,
Fading from the arch of darkness, behind the sandy hills of Geb,
Beyond the groves of sycamore trees, morning creeps on twittering toes, to light the day.
Through the jet curtain of night, a beam of assurance peeps out of the dark,
Calling upon the morning breezes and the morning birds to awaken the people of Egypt,
While scattering spots of sunshine about the scorching sandy deserts.
Screeching ibis on the Nile, catching fish, taking fight, into the radiance
That the morning sun releases onto the cattails, telling them to dance in the new light,
While rousing hippos from their bed in the Great Hapi, sun shining on their sleek hides.
Silent wind-blown whispers tap a pitter-patter into the ears of the sleeping farmers,
Speaking of the wonders that Re flooded with refulgence, the delta lambent,
Calling to work the russet citizens of the red and black land, Upper and Lower Egypt.
Hark! The Divine Scarab, Khepri emerges from the underworld, born again,
Waking all the inhabitants of his sunburned kingdom, filtering an explosion of light,
In and onto the glistening Nile, the farmers, the Pharaohs, all under the same sun.
As the Sun ascends to its zenith, bathing the date and fig trees in sparkling flame,
Morning leaves on the same flitting feet on which it came, dancing and leaping,
On the dunes of sand and across the sea, to let morning come the next day.
It's not outstanding, but whatever.
Hey, Kirke, that poem was pretty cool. ^_^ I remember studying Eygpt in elementry school. XD Yeah, we had a whole night deticated to it.
As for the other poems, they're all great too! ^_^ Now I guess it's my turn to post a few I have written. Here's the first one...
Stolen Sun
Sunshine
My life
That's what it used to be
Until, you came
Then I was caught in the night...
The moon shone down forever
When will the sun come?
Probably never...
Heehee. I'm not good at this. ^_^; I wrote a few Haikus that I thought were okay... but I can't find them. I wonder if I can re-write them from memory...?
Fallen Leaves
Leaves dance in the wind
Where is their destination?
Only time will tell
What is love?
What is love to me?
Is it a feeling? A song?
A song of my heart...
Yep. My cheesiness! ^_^; But Haikus are fun because there so easy to write! XD
When I look in the mirror, I don't see me, I see you,
When you came into my life, you defied everything I knew,
All the things before in which I used to hold,
Seemed to drift away and then turn cold,
And as all the things I had didn't make much sense,
I would have lied to say I wasn't enjoying it,
Every day that you and I will last,
Seems to be a dream I've never encountered in the past,
and everytime you grasp my hand,
I might as well be walking down the beaches white sand,
And now, my life is never messed up and in tangles,
I just might as well be with one of God's angels,
And everything I had to say was true,
And that's why I dedicate with poem to you.
That's one of my most latest poems. I've seen a lot of nice ones here.
Did I see that face in glee?
Or was it just an error in me.
Did you ever sit and think,
Nobody likes the colour pink.
Too many people cook the food,
That gets us all in a mood.
Did you ever sit and think,
That you're running low on ink.
Did I see that bird in joy,
or was it just a little boy.
Did you ever stand and stare,
at the little birds over there.
Did I see that pig just roll,
Or was it just a paper doll.
Did you ever sit and think,
That there might be a link?
I got a level 6+ for that in year 7! :D
Wow things are suddenly brighterish here... new people! yay I must agree with Star on the ease of haiku's but they are kinda repetetive when doubled up or rather Multipleied... (most of my originals are a bunch of haikus and they are hard to decipher through the penstrokes)
Again with the watseish ness @_@
All things long to return to which they spawn. This longing,foriegn to the mentality of it's origin,drives the hands of oblivion. Instincts once forgotten resurface. Darkend skies fill the eye of fear flooding from the point at which time ceases. Needless bloodshed and points fighting Are the omens of the Gods Triumph. Times ephemeral flow fills us with the memories which make us human. Time ceases only once in each lkifetime at such occurance the creator once again pours life and a new being is brought forth only to be carressed by time's hands and eventually pass to another.
Well this is strange necromancing something like this? It shouldn't need it!
Forsaken Night
The nights fall, day's death
All now to destruction's hand
Celestial mother
The lunar light fills
The hearts of earthly beings
Madness floods their minds.
The lunacy from
Nights fatal talons of fear
Wells within the void
Brothers fight brothers
Mothers murder daughters all
Now to destruction.
Faulty human lives
Fragile human minds bow to
Nights fatal rapture
Darkness welling from
All living creature night reigns
with utter cruelty
Conspiring for
The celestial father's next
Decent, the night ends
My, I've done it again.
I've left in her heart a wound which cannot be healed by a bandage or a kiss.
I left in her mind a doubt which would shatter her bliss.
For the sins I've wrought there can be no repent, so as I lay myself unto my earthen bed I pray the world her heart to mend. Give her happiness where I left hurt. Allow her to smile where I forced her to frown. Take me from her before I may cause her harm anew. Place her dreams into the ground so they may flourish and bear fruit. Take away her sorrows and fill her with strength. Oh eternal time, your hand fills all with what they are meant to be but I beg of you now, take her sorrows and her doubts. Mend the wounds I've left in the one I swore to protect. Fill her with your wisdom and give her something she deserves. Give her hope even in the darkness. Grant her happiness even in the end. Allow her to forget the hurt I gave her and me with it. Allow her to forget the time I stole. Give her peace where I left dismay. Oh father time, I ask this of you because you are the only one who can take her pains and with your power give her joy. She deserves a life in which she isn't plagued by traitorous men or frozen promises. Lady Jeanette I beg of you, bear this pain a little longer. The cold moon is setting and soon the sun will bathe you in his eternal warmth. Soon night will end and you will be given a dawn where I am not. I part now with naught but a final apology. I'll leave now never to turn my eye lest you ask it of me, I'll leave now never to betray you again. Lady Jeanette, I'm sorry for the hurt I caused. I'm sorry for not being strong enough to protect you from the very harm I gave you. I'm only able to pray that time finds you a cure and that you will find your peaceful ending. Untill you ask it of me...
Good bye my dearest.
