Post subject: | The NEW 3rd Generation Rating Center |
(The update is in color at the bottom of the post) Seeing as quite a few team rating threads have popped up, I've decided to re-open the rating center from the last forum. If anybody has a team they would like to have rated, post it here, and don't start a new thread for it. Any new "rate my team" threads will be deleted, and a PM will be sent to the poster telling him/her to re-post the team in this thread. In order to avoid one big mess of a thread, there is a limited amount of raters who will rate the teams here. I must insist that only people on the rating team (or people with special permission, like the Elite Four) will be able to rate the teams here. The Rating Team (Active): sN0wBaLL tiger10x ChroniclerC wenziz Peanut-Lover Benjamin Skytune R-cubed Pokemaniac garabato Mega_Horn Gnaaye Currently Inactive Raters: Nido Neo_Matrix NOTE: The Elite Four have special permission to rate the teams here as well, even though they're not officially on the list. This is merely out of respect for them, and because they are so leet. I would also like to make it clear that we do not give out movesets just like that. We recommend and would prefer if everyone try their best at putting together a team and movesets, before they post on this thread. Any "here are my Pokemon, give me movesets for them" threads will be ignored. For further reference, the following is a link to a thread of a list of all the standard movesets for all the Pokemon, compiled by papersun and sN0wBaLL: Standard Movesets Guide. Post away! A few things added Dec 30: Lately, there have been a few misunderstandings about posting teams in general. To try to ease this up, there are now a few guidelines about it (below). Just remember, these are not rules, these are merely "suggestions" from raters that would significantly ease our jobs. 1. Preferred format: Some people have different styles for putting a moveset into words than other people do, but it should at least be easy enough to understand from the viewpoint of the rater. They should be evenly spaced with new lines for each move and a break between Pokemon. Also, please do not use any color. Here is an extremely basic outline of this: Pokemon Move Move Move Move Pokemon (etc) 2. Required and optional data: What is required for a team is really only the data shown in the above format; there is nothing else required. Most people like posting natures, items, abilities anyway, and that's just fine. The more data you can supply, the better. Some things that we really don't need, and they don't actually help us much anyway, are the Pokemon's stats. EVs are optional, providing that some people may not know what they are. What the team is to be used for is also optional (like the game version or if it would be used for the battle frontier), but if you want something very special, you'll need to specify. Similar to that, if you lack the ability to get a few moves on a Pokemon (TMs, Tutors), it would help if you said something about that. It's not our fault if we don't give you what you want because you didn't say anything. And related to that, if we don't give you what you want in general, there are so many other resources on the site and forums that it would be pointless to post them all. 3. Asking for extra suggestions or filling in the blanks and etc: Leaving a "?" in a moveset is perfectly fine. Leaving a Pokemon with a "?" for every category is also fine, but it is easier if you actually have an idea of what to do for the Pokemon, too. This should be similar to a question about what Pokemon you could add to complete your team. Just give us an idea, and that helps immensely. As mentioned, we have all those resources, and they should not be ignored. 4. Posting teams without movesets: As mentioned in the first part of this post, we don't give movesets (again, refer to the site, etc). This is similar to the above question, too, but it's a little more extreme. As of late, raters have just been supplying basic things about types and stuff. It's okay now, just don't expect us to actually give you too much detail if you don't likewise. Credit goes to Nido for the first post. I'll be deleting the old thread on May 5th 2007. Please be aware of this date, and save any ratings you still need. The raters haven't changed from the old rating center, and this will continue like the old one did. |

Otherwise Rock slide > Shadow ball. Adamant @ Lum/??? Yes 252atk, 252spd, 6 sp. def brick break a-ace EQ rock slide No DD and no choice band??. That sucks. But I guess this moveset is fine then. Hardy @ Chesto/??? Yes, lefties are good option too 252hp, 129 sp.atk, 129 atk surf ice beam EQ rest Good. Favours attacking; dislikes defense; hates support (unfortunately) @ Lefties 252hp, 252def, 252sp.def rain dance dive (might get toxic soon) giga drain (used PP Max) leech seed Surf > Dive or toxic. Congratulations for giving him 756 Evs. quirky? I forgot @ lum/shell bell/??? 252ap.atk, 252 spd, 6 def leaf blade t-punch crunch dragonbreath (no d-claw, good for paralyzing powerful dragons) Almost standard. Good. rash @ shell bell/lum/??? Those are both good options. 252spd, 129 atk, 129 sp. atk sky uppercut/brick break SU flamethrower a-ace rock slide I have heard bad rumours about Critiken being bad sometimes and getting virtually NO criticals, but I CAN use one. Ahhhh...someone flamming my favorite set for critiken...tell him/her to stfu . Critiken does gets a lot of critikal hits. However for your set: Overheat > flamethrower. And Bulk up/ Sword dance/ EQ > Aerial ace. rate please Bluestrike. You may wat a special sponge (blissey) or a stat uper physical sweeper. Curser Snorlax or Dragon dancer Dragonite/Tyranitar are good options. Gengar is a good adition to many teams since most people dont expect someone to have 2 ghosts. And this thing makes a free switch in into a lot of things (EQ, return, megahorn, focus punch, brick break, sludge bomb, toxicers, etc). |

Sorry i haven't been here... <s>Bluestrike</s> SAIRAM (terribly sorry)- go for bulk up/swords dance > t-punch. what does t-punch hit, aside from waters? It won't ko, if thats what your hoping. For some reason, there's a problem Kody, so i can't quote - here's the rate, though: I'd say curse/bick break > yawn, but thats okay. Careful/Adamant nature is better though. @Choice band, or leftovers. Lapras is an option. As is slowbro. But for starmie, its what you want - cosmic power, recover, T-bolt, ICe beam, Pychic, Surf, Rapid Spin. Lots of moves available. Specialize. Calm Mind + b-pass > aerial ace + return, or Swords Dance + Shadow Ball > T-bolt and flamethrower. Agility, Meteor Mash, Sludge Bomb, Shadow Ball/EQ/Rock Slide. Modest nature, t-punch > shock wave, recover + calm mind > Psybeam + ??? |

Your Mum wrote: ok heres my emerald team:
Salamence D claw crunch hydro pump flamethrower This is known as Elemence. I'd like to bring to your attention why this is probably one of the bigger follys in Pokemon history: 1.) Hydro Pump has horrible accuracy 2.) This hits barely anyone (dragons, steels, grasses, psychic, ghosts). Thats about it 3.) The attack stat > special attack stat. 4.) It fails to get t-bolt or ice beam, critical moves on most special sweepers. This is as ood as it gets. This is about every single special move her gets. Please choose wisely. Heracross Megahorn brick break reversal take down > double edge Endure > Take down. If this is in-game (no salac berry), this is sort of outclassed by other heracross versions (bulk up, swords dance, or choice banders). Milotic Hydro pump recover refresh Water Pulse > maybe Surf...not sure Surf, Ice beam, then either Rest + Sleep Talk (MArvel Scale) or Recover + Refresh. Again, Hydro Pump is inaccurate. Rhydon Rock Slide EQ Thunder Surf No special moves, please. Double Edge (if rock-head ability), and brick break > thunder and surf. Metagross Meteor mash EQ Psychic Hyper Beam Esplosion + Sludge bomb > Psychic and Hyper beam. Psychic is off the lower special attack, and hyper beam requires recharge. Blaziken Slash Flamethrower Blaze Kick Sky Uppercut Critiken? Focus energy > Flamethrower. Thats it. Or, Rock Slide and Bulk Up/Swords Dance > Blaze Kick and Slash. I think you'll have guessed my plan is just brute force...no stat bonuses or reductions...All are raised from lvl 5 |

Sairam: Off course you should keep EQ there for the awsome type coverage and power. Can't you clon the EQ TM???? (otherwise ask someone to clone it for you ) However Salamence's base speed is 100, so after one dragon dance is faster than everything. That means you dont need 252 speed, those EV would be better placed in HP. And you want an adamant nature there for the same reason. Items for metagross/tyranitar are shell bell, lefties or lums. And the movesets are very good, same as the EVs. bushin wrote: Team for competitive battles...
Basic rules: -Item Clause -Sleep Clause -Any Uber on level 90 is considered Legendary -Legendary clause off -Double battle ---Sunny BOOM Team--- So you are basing your strategy on the sun???. Well seeing as groundom is your only way to summon sunlight, your team will fail as soon as kyogre/tyranitar comes out...and those are really overused pokemon in this legendary metagame. ---Starters--- Sakura @Soul Dew *Shine* Lv90 Timid-Ev:[Traded(I don't know)] Levitate -Solarbeam -Thunderbolt -Ice beam -Protect Calm mind > Protect. And you may want to trhow recover in there instead of something (otherwise blissey and other calm minders will beat you one on one). I would suggest puting it instead of SB, but is up to you, seeing as this is a sun abuser team. Kingroundon @Leftovers *Shine* Lv 90 Bold-Ev:[Traded(I don't know)] Drought -EQ -Ancient Power -Bulk up -Protect Bold???? Ughhhh ...Adamant would have been better. However HP bug/Overheat/Rest/Return > Protect. Some people would out sword dance over bulk up since your defence is already very high..and you wont be taking a lot of physical hits anyway. ---Bombers--- Pelota @Quick Claw Lv100 Adamant-Ev:Hp & Att Max Thick Fat -Double Edge -Shadow Ball -Protect -Self-Destruct Nice, altough Rest/EQ/Curse > Protect. A choice band is usually there to make it a bomb that will KO anything with selfdestruct. Metalox @Liechi B. Lv100 Adamant-Ev:Hp-100 Att-Max speed-152 Clear Body -Meteor Mash -EQ -Agility -Explosion An agility set doesn't needs max speed. Those EV would be better placed in HP and attack. ---Protecters--- Blazon Lee @White Werb. Lv100 Hasty-Ev:Att & Speed Max Blaze -Overheat -Sky Uppercut -EQ -Protect Good, Sword dance/bulk up/Hp bug > Protect. Lagartixa @Petaya B. Lv100 Timid-Ev:Sp.Att & Speed Max ---forgot the name{ability} --- -SolarBeam -Thunderpunch -Hidden Power [Ice 70] -Substitute Seems good. So yeah, I understand why do you want protect there, but a skilled player will usually predict those and use them as a free turn. If you put a ghost in your team then you can just send it out whenever one of your pokemon wants to blow up.. |

Do you have cloning acces??? Because that really helps out with the lack of EQ (being the best TM abd stuff...) I know that you dont like cheating but Glitch =/= Cheat. The game programers made a mistake and you are just abusing it . And yes, a choice bander set for Salamance really works out very good, dont change the EV spread if then. The flinching set indeed, is fun to use, you could try it out. However EQ is necesary in there too. Good EV spread. |
