I have nearly finished platinum, and am up to the elite 4, but i have nothing to deal with Garchomp, Cept... Mamoswine. Big decision, should i keep ice shard and replace take down with blizzard, or replace shard and use a Hail/Blizzard combo? She can take a hit and it would probably take about 2-3 successful dragon rushs to take her down. First six to vote get counted. Post 1 for keeping shard and post 2 for replacing. Option with most posts with be used.  CharizardCharmeleon

I believe Mamoswine is an excellent option. Hail/Blizzard I think is your best option |

As you may or may not know, Mamoswine has a massive base 130 attack stat, allowing physical hits from Mamoswine to destroy an opponent. I recommend that you keep Ice Shard as it will surpass Mamoswine's somewhat low Speed, and possibly destroy the opponent before Mamoswine gets hit by a special attack against its low 60 base Special Defense. Additionally, I would say not to use Blizzard, but instead to use other physical attacks such as Superpower and Earthquake to further utilize that Attack stat. |

Since you're just doing this for the E4, I'd consider Hail/Blizzard because it will also give you the benifit of messing up Bertha and her Hippowdon's endless sandstorm. However, Ice Shard should at least 2HKO Garchomp and, depending on your level, it might OHKO. If you plan on ever playing competitavley, however, keep Ice Shard. |

yeah i think that the ice moves should work well. If you have a Palkia, use Spacial Rend its Super Effective against him. Thats how i usually beat Garchomp |

In reply to the one about superpower, ive never done competitive battling. Thanks guys, i replaced take downwith blizzard and kept shard. Mamoswine absolutely wrecks hippowdons. Blizzard. Might delete blizzard if i ever use swine for comp. r3ds, im on platinum and the only way to get palkia/dialga is to beat champion and go back up to spear pillar. Oh and hyper, swine outsped a lvl 59 swellow at lvl 56  Then again i think it has hasty nature.
