VGC Success for Smogon
Posted on Jun 28, 2010 08:40PMThe USA National VGC Tournament has concluded this weekend in Indianapolis. Congratulations to Wesley Morioka, who defeated Smogon's very own Alaka in the finals on Sunday.
The top 8 competitors on Sunday all receive a paid trip to Hawaii for the World Championships and include amongst their ranks Smogon users skarm, Huy, BadIntent, PokemanMaster, and DeagleBeagle, while the top 16, which includes Bianca222, Kongler, mattj, Metabou, TTS, and Rory, all receive invitations to compete.
They will be joined by those competitors who qualified in the European nationals tournaments. Among them are Smogon users Kinneas, Giant Enemy Crab, and Osirus182 out of Birmingham, UK; Kedavra, Sanchan, and Massi out of Cologne, Germany; froggy25, Albert, and Galooks out of Lyon, France; and Kefka, RubeNCB92, and CaptainFalcon out of Madrid, Spain.
Visit the Video Game Championships section of our forums for warstories and photos from the events.
Congratulations to all the winners, and good luck in Hawaii!

Figures that some of the best players of the game belong to one of the most prestigious sites for Pokemon out there. One with a lot of authority of the metagame. Just go figure.

Does Nintendo check pokemon legitimacy enough - does PokeSav get through it? I wouldn't be surprised at IV hacking, max IVs on Shoddy is normal.

Its very possible. You have to know your secret ID, which is easy enough. But the hard part is hacking in the hexidecimal numbers that every Poke has. Of course that involves a lot of math, so it would be much better just to breed legitly.
