Post subject: | Most effective Charizard moveset |
I've been formulating my team, and can't decide on which path I want to take for my Charizard. I've looked at the "Bellyzard" moveset, but it seems extremely risky. Is it worth it? On the other hand, I've been looking at physical vs. special sweeper. Physical gets EQ, Swords Dance, and Ancientpower, while Special has better stats, Flamethrower, and Dragon Pulse, but no move boost. The rest of my team is: Garchomp (Physical Sweeper) Gengar (Special Sweeper) Vaporeon (Special + Partial tank) Leafeon (Physical + Partial tank) Lucario (Mixed Sweeper) Any advice? (Is this where this topic should go?) |

I'm no professional, but this is a good idea. People always insist on a Bellyzard. I think A Physical Charizard is good, But have a Belly Drum/Baton Pass Smeargle or something like that. Swords-Dance-Zard is decent idea. Have like: @ Charti Berry Adamant - 252 Att / 252 Spe / 6 HP ~ Earthquake ~ Flare Blitz ~ Swords Dance ~ Dragon Claw/Airal Ace/Substitute |

I run a BellyZard set in my doubles team. Because the fact is I lure all the attacks towards one while I can Belly Drum. One set you might wanna do is a Specs/Scarf Special set. Specs obviously for power and Scarf for speed. With the movies Flamethrower, Ancient Power, Dragon Pulse, and another special move. |

Two bigs things to keep in mind with belly drum or really any charizard 1. make it's HP odd 2. have a rapid spinner or great taunt lead Stealth rock will chop 50% of it's HP coming in, keeping the HP odd will allow two hits and leave 1hp remaining (or 1 SR hit and belly drum, which is best paired with a salac berry) It's best to avoid SR altogether by adding a spinner like forretress over leafeon, it can tank hits better as well. |

My freind used his Bellyzard as a Lead, and he swept my entire team with it! It was so bad, that I taught one of my Pokemon Roar to counter it! You will never know which one it is though, since my entire team can learn it XD |

If you feel that BellyZard is too risky, just go with swords dance. Also, you are going to want to use it as a lead since it has that whole horrible 50% SR weakness. Btw Garchomp is banned so you should replace it (Something like Salamence, Metagross) |
