In light of this being the 40th song game and the closing of the past decade, Song Game XL will look at the past 40 years of music, starting with 1970, and ending in 2009. With the exception of two, all songs are new and chosen based on diversity and popularity. Likely the songs used are one of the artist's most popular songs, so this should be fairly easy. The game is broken into sections by decade (you may play as many or as few as you wish), and the scoring will be handled differently than the others.

Each song and artist are one point toward your total score, and all answers must be sent via PM to me as usual. However, your total score is taken from your two best scoring decades. For example, if you choose to play the 70's, 90's, and 00's and score best in 70's and 00's, all correct answers from the 90's will be dropped and all correct answers from the 70's and 00's will be tallied. If you still don't get it, then just be sure to play at least two decades, but you aren't obligated to play them all.

The game is open for three weeks, ending February 1.
