I officially take pity upon the Metagame, because we now have, well. Fabulous stuff. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m8lfI66T5II

Well, I'm probably back in the water camp this generation, with Brionne and the presumed Entermaid, as opposed to the tiger wrestler that Litten becomes. I normally go with the fire types, but Oshawott and now Popplio seem to be the exceptions to that. I think the only time that I started with a grass-type was with a Chikorita, back in Gold. I do still quite like Torracat, though.
While Bounsweet may have been cute, it didn't particularly register anything with me. Now, though, (tinie) Steenee, in particular, and Tsareena have jumped to the top of my Gen VII favorites list. She's probably firmly taken my grass slot for the first play though, alongside Gumshoos and "Entermaid".
The Alolan Grimer and Muk, in particular, don't really sit well with me. I love the concept of crystalized toxins, which only add to the line as a plus trait, because of the sheer hetrogeneous nature that Grimer and Muk have always sort of given, but never really displayed properly. It's the colors that I'm not too fond of. I could see the green coming from the sludge being contaminated by some kind of oil, but I just don't know where the blues, yellows, and pinks come from, and I can't image either. The flowing colors don't help, because the viscous nature of the pokémon in general should mix the colors together, and never leave it with something as bright as that yellow or pink. If anything, it feels like the crystals should be flowing, not the colors. I could see flowing colors on something like Kecleon, or even some kind of Alolan Octillery, but not a literal pile of solvent sludge and goo. Overall, it feels like they tried a bit too hard to escape the Gen I trend of oversimplification when compared to later generations, and the bright colors are the result.
Still, it's a neat concept. Not my favorite, but meh. If they're going to run with it, I would have liked to see the flowing be more random at weaker levels, while at higher levels, the flowing slows, or one color or another focuses at the point of attack or defense, maybe with a few crystals thrown in, to symbolize it's gradual control over it's own anatomy. Maybe even tie the volume of the colors into the EV spread, because if each color is implied to be a chemical reaction, then it would make sense that different chemicals would have different attributes. This all would probably be too much for the games, but they could be some interesting traits in the anime or manga, much like an Arbok's hood design.

So apparently the starter's final stages were leaked. I'm going with the Grass type again lmao. I've always picked grass type starters, except for charmander and Fennekin.
Other than that, well, Alolan Dugtrio and Persian rip. I like Muk personally, it won't have a spot in my team but he looks nice.

Easy where you spread the spoilers, please. This forum may not see much activity, but we are still here. I, personally, am against the datamine.
Highlight to view spoiler.
I don't know what you meant by Persian, and I don't want to know until it's actually revealed.
Edit. There's no avoiding this stuff, is there? Of course not, it's the internet. Damn.

The starters were leaked a long time before yesterday's datamine.
My hype for this game has really deflated tbh. Partially due to real life circumstances but still.

Everything I talked about are officialy released, except for the starter's final stages. I tried the demo but the gameplay is not fluid at all omg, hopefully it's faster.

The Persian wasn't official until today, and the starters are rumors, and we're on the back of a full demo datamine. Alas, Youtube is annoying now.
I check in at least once a day, and I get excited when I see the little icons light up, especially the little Alakazam, Espeon, or Starmie, so I kind of just jumped in an saw what I perceived as a spoiler that I was trying to avoid. Sorry about that.
