Since a million and a half people keep asking how to clone pokémon and items, I'd figure I'd gather as much information on it as I can in one thread. I don't think we have a guide on it, so I'm going to link to guides on other sites. As always, please try and do some research on your own before asking questions. Chances are you'll find the answer before someone * Cloning Guide on GameFAQs * YouTube search for how to clone Can we stick to discussing cloning to this thread instead of making more threads about it. Discuss how you do it, your tips and tricks and maybe offer to clone pokémon for those of us who aren't any good at it. Let's try and keep the Sinnoh forum tidy, okay? |

Ok, I use the GTS cloning for my shinies. ![]() |

Hmm, I don't think the events can be traded. My legit darkrai has the Classic ribbon so it can't be sent through GTS, as well as now one else has put a Darkrai in the GTS. But I think the mew 9 and under is safer to "blend" in with the crowd. When I clone, I wait 7 full rotations (the little clock), and on the 7th, the arrow hand points either at "15 min" (pretending the clock in game is a regular non-digital clock) to "25 min" then cut off the power. I can clone some people's shiny or legends if they have trouble or are scarred of losing their pokemon. |

ive noticed when using this trick that when i turn on the game sometimes i am standing in front of the receptionist, and sometimes walking out the door. but it can work either way (ie it is possible that the trick worked but you still start in front of the receptionist). as for the darkrai thing, i think SR was getting at the fact that once the darkrai item has been legally handed out, they will almost certainly let people put up darkrai's for trade on the GTS. now we all know that the movie ones cant be put up because of the classic ribbon, but there must actually be a total ban on all darkrais, since there isnt a single one up for trade, even though there do exist item-hacked darkrais out there (just look it up on youtube). |

Your location is wherever you last saved. If you last saved in front of the receptionist, that's where you will be. If you took a pokemon out of the GTS then tried to clone, you will come out the door. It can work either way; what matters is that it gives the blue screen of save corruption. |

If you took a pokemon out of the GTS then tried to clone, you will come out the door. It can work either way; what matters is that it gives the blue screen of save corruption. if you turned the game off too late and the pokemon was put up on the GTS (and not in your party) you dont get the blue screen. but if you turn it off too early and the pokemon remains in your party (and doesnt go onto the GTS) then you will get the blue screen even though the trick didnt work. all im saying is that there are slight variations, and the only way to tell if you have been successful is to check if you have a clone. to actually add something to this topic, heres a tip on getting the timing right, since ive noticed a lot of people find it tricky.... have a look at what happens when you simply put a pokemon up for trade on the GTS. watch the WLAN light (and dont yet try to turn off the DS). it will flicker a lot at the start, then go solid, then flicker madly for a couple of seconds, then you will hear the music and see the sequence of your pokemon leaving your DS in a pokeball. watch this a couple of times to get used to the flashing sequence just before the end. this is where you will have to turn off the DS - at a certain point in that last flashing sequence. when you are quite familiar with the sequence, you should now try the cloning trick, attempting to turn off the DS at various stages of the flashing sequence. most wont work, but you will eventually get it. then try again - it might take a few more goes to get it right the second time, and then a few more to get it the third time. but after a bit of practicve you should be able to get it right 95% of the time. personally the sequence for me has 4 quick flashes then a couple of long flashes and some more quick ones - i have to turn it off as soon as i see the third quick flash at the start. so its a pretty precise thing, but will be different from router to router. i hope this helps clear it up. the moral of the story is to just keep trying, but in a methodical way. |

Out of curiosity, is it possible and/or likely to lose your data while attempting to get the correct timing? I've heard that was a big issue in Emerald cloning. |

As far as anyone can tell, there is no chance of your poke getting deleted. The whole thing is how it copies your poke to the GTS server. After that it deletes it on your game. You have to shut it off at the precise moment when it is saved in the GTS and still in your game. |

there is a way to lose a pokemon but you have to be a bit stupid to do it. when you take back a pokemon you will notice that the WLAN light makes the same flashes. if you turn the DS off at "the right spot" when you are taking a pokemon out it will disappear for good. now, if you are doing this after you already made a clone then youll still be fine since the "original" will still be in your party. but if you dont have a copy of it (eg you clicked too late when trying to clone), then it is gone forever. but i dont think too many people will do this. |

the best trainer wrote: Is it the same with a router. is what the same? The flashing lights Cuddles mentioned involved his router...and the connection you have doesn't affect cloning. |

I try to clone over and over again, but I still can't seem to close my DS at the very precise moment. It changes every time. The place that the clock hand stop's at is always different even if I lay my DS on the table and without moving it, do it a couple times. Could someone PM me and help me duplicate 2 of my PKMN for me? Thanks in advance! -Froggy |

Earlier today the weirdest thing happened to me i was trying to clone my shiny salamance and left it there thinking it was safe. This morning i went to take it out and got a mew lvl 1. Has this ever happened to you guys ![]() |

Yes, indeed it has. It HAS to be pokesaved, however. My theory: Tricks the game into thinking the mew is level 1 and legit at the same time. BTW, your distance from the router is important too. If you find a place in your house that you can clone best, always clone there (or an equal distance away in another direction) |

there is apparently an AR code that allows you to clone...are pokemon cloned using that method considered hacked, or not - should create an exact duplicate of a legit pokemon... here is the video, and my friend's tested it on his game... |
