If you had a choice between joining Team Aqua or Team Magma, which would you join and why?

My vote goes for Magma, for the following reasons:

1. Location, location.
On the one hand, Aqua is just a short walk away to the Department Store.
On the other hand, Magma is a slightly longer walk to the Desert, the Game Corner, The Day-Care,
and Slateport. I prefer the later ones.

2. Aqua's suit sucks.
Nuff' said.

3. Magma has more type variety.
Think about it. In Emerald, Magma has:

{baltoy}
{golbat}{zubat}
{poochyena}

Aqua, on the other hand, has:

{carvhana}
{wailmer}
{golbat}{zubat}
{poochyena}

In other words, Magma has Ground, Fire, Psychic, Flying, Poison, and Dark. 6 types.
Aqua has Water, Flying, Poison, and Dark. 4 types.

Although, I suppose, technically almost anything goes in there.

3. Temperature
Magma likes heat. Aqua likes cold. I like heat. I hate cold.

I dislike them both. Like Dragonfree says in the Cave of Dragonflies, Magmka goes all out in Sapphire to make aqua look bad, and vice versa for Aqua.

They really don't do much to impress me.

Aqua uses Kyogre-Ehh.

However, I choose Team Aqua. No specific reasons, only because I thought is slightly better than because of it's drizzle.

Wasn't the point of Aqua and Magma that they were both pursuing more or less the same thing via the same actions that culminated in both teams being defeated? They're as bad as each other, though Aqua's vague similarity to pirates amuses me.

There should've been a third team in Emerald, green orientated. Perhaps users of flying-type Pokémon; wanting to harness Rayquaza's power to maintain the status quo. They could've been a Pokémon Ranger association or something. Tropius could've been their signature Pokémon. =P

I would probably "Go Rocket" because as villains go (experimenting on Pokémon with radio signals to make them go mental, publically hijacking buildings in large cities and mutilating Slowpoke), they were pretty hardcore. And that's saying something for the Pokémon series.

*sniff*Nobody likes Team Magma. *sniff*

I think the reason there wasn't a third team in Emerald was probably because they would end up picking Crobat
as thier base, just because that's one less Pokemon to catch.

That's an interesting idea though; Maybe I'll write a fanfic about it.

I've gotta say Team Aqua...they DO look like pirates and I'm a Floridian who goes to the beach everyday

But I agree with Kipper, Team Rocket did so much more and it actually was realistic...no "harnessing the Meteorite's power" and stuff.

i like team magma more because i love fire type pokemon and i prefer groudon or maybe beacause i always played ruby

I choose Team Aqua because of the following reasons:

1. I'm currently playing Sapphire (that doesn't made any sense, isn't it?)
2. I like more than partly because of its water type advantage against
3. I can't think of any more

I've always been more of an Aqua fan. I prefer water- to fire-types, I think Team Magma looks kind of weird, and I don't really like Groudon. I've always played Sapphire more than Ruby, too.

Well, I prefer Team Rocket.


But if I have to choose between Team Aqua and Magma it will be Aqua.

1. The traidingame cards with aqua's pokémons look cooler that the Magma's.

2. The Leader of Aqua looks cooler that the Magma's leader.

3. Love Kyogre and never really liked Groudon.

4. I like cold places and hate hot places... More that 22°C and nobody wants to be close to me...

I like team magma only because of the fire pokemon, there suit, and groundon ownz!

But I suppose if I have to choose between the two I don't really know. Team Aqua's uniform is ridiculous but I love water types. With Team Magma I have the opposite problem. Their uniform is the better of the to but their pokemon are not up to scratch.

The other day I was watching some advanced battle episodes and in them Archie (Team Aqua Leader) is shown as the bad guy .

Like Jaguar, I think Team Aquas uniforms are ridiculous, and I really dislike Team Magmas leader.

I have to admit Team Magma has cooler uniforms, but overall I like Team Rocket over both of them.

Rocket was actually trying something realistic... and their leader was also a gym leader, and i think thats a pretty good setup.

hmmm.... Team Aqua i dont like there uniforms at all but ever since i started playing pokemon i have always choosen the water starter and i probably will when i start playing platinum.

Team Aqua, because if there was less land to walk on, there would be more hot Squirtle babes i could flirt with

Team Rocket is more...spiffy. Not totally against another equal team, stupid rivalry of Aqua/Magma. It's Jesse, and James, and Meowth that's right! Team rocket is blasting off again!!!....

Team Magma definitely. I just prefer their leader really.

Yeah Magma's sorta cool because they're ground/fire type, I guess, while Aqua is more water/ice type, which I greatly despise, so between the 2 I pick magma because fire is awesome. Both their leaders seem like sorta-good, like wrong thing for a half-right reason.
