Without turning to face Eirika, he said, trying to keep his cool:

"Why didn't you tell me then? Do you think it's normal to walk around with my former enemy's leader unaware of it? Especially after I made it clear I didn't want to have anything to do with Midnight anymore?"

He faced Eirika.

"What are you up to? You want me to believe you helped me out without second intentions? I'm not the kind of person one wants to help of their own free will..."

"I...I thought you already knew I was a leader...and I guess I'm just programmed to help people..." Eirika said, still stammering.

Friends?" this last word had an odd ring to it, as Levin didn't pronounce it too often.
