Ok, I've come up with two.

{gengar}@lum/leftovers
A-Levitate
N-Modest
EV's: SSS (special sweeper set) (252 Sp. Att, 252 Spd, 6 Hp)

Hmm. On Gengar, I would say go with either Fire Punch or Thunderbolt, but not Ice Punch; Fire punch does 2x damage to Steel, one of the three types Psychic has a problem with. Thunderbolt, on the other hand, does normal damage to Steel, but has better base power, making it a bit more effective against the other two problem types, Psychic and Dark. Ice Punch has the same power as Fire Punch, but then is .5x effective to Steel instead of 2x.
And, I know I'm not a rater, but I would say that both of those sets deserve a test. Finally, a pretty effective use for Dream Eater, a really cool but very difficult to use attack.

While I agree with the points on the pokemon themselves, I feel compelled to point out that Gengar is hardly "creative", Hyp-DE is (in many cases) standard, and even if it were replaced by Psychic, Thunderbolt is a fairly popular alternate attack like with Gardevoir (I think). I personally used Fire and Ice Punch on my Gengar a while back, and while it's (I think) a good battler, that's about all it's good at.

On the other hand, Mean Look I haven't seen much on Gengar, but then perhaps something like Toxic would be better, along with an HP-gaining attack.

Can't say on Jynx, but it looks interesting. Something like a Sing-DE Altaria I saw a while back with Ice Beam and Dragon Breath (I think)

The Hypnosis-Dream Eater combo for Gengar is a common set in-game, so perhaps the Jynx set should be the one which should be tested.

I agree in-game a hypnosis-dream eater combo is common. However, you rarely see it, heck I've never seen it, on net battle or in any person vs. person compition because everyone just switches out as soon as they are put to sleep.

Not only does this solve the switching problem, but it also catches a person off gaurd. After all, like I said above, who uses dream eater when you're facing a person?

This has never been a Netbattle or competitive battling Creative Movesets Thread. Sets are compared to both the in-game and competitive movesets most of the time.

Tell me if this has been done before, but 60 pages is a bit much to check through.

A Choice-Band Quagsire!

{quagsire} - 252 Att. 252 Def. 6 HP @ Choice Band

Ancientpower
Brick Break
Earthquake
Iron Tail

Or, you could have a sweeper Quagsire

{quagsire} - 252 Att. 252 Def. 6 HP @ Lefties

Rock Tomb
Brick Break
Mud Shot (More PP than Earthquake)
Curse

Whaddya think?

EDIT: Good point Dave, editting now. Pity it can't learn Bulk Up.

'fraid I don't agree with CB sweeping, or CB in general actually, I like versatility. so if you're asking which I prefer I say minus the CB and with Earthquake. Always prefered it over Mud Shot except when I was using it with Marshtomp, lovely thing that. While we're still on part Ground-types:

{nidoking} @ ??
Poison Point | Calm
200-SD 200-Def 110-SA
>Surf
>Rain Dance
>Thunder
>Ice Beam

In my experience, Nidoking is a physical sweeper. My thought was based off a surfing Nidoking. Of course, if it's still too standard I'm sorry.

{kangaskhan} @ Leftovers
Early Bird | Bold
200-SD 200-Def 110-HP
>Rest/Wish
>Substitute
>Reversal/Double Team
>Aerial Ace/Shadow Ball/Toxic

Not so sure, meant it to be a tanker, but I'm not so sure I got it right.

Your kangaskhan won't be too good as a tanker without some way to power up its defenses.

Again, I've yet to find one like it, how about a draining Tropius?

{tropius} @ Leftovers
Chlorophyll | Bold
200-HP 200-SD 110-Def
>Leech Seed
>Fly
>Magical Leaf
>Synthesis

Only the first 2 are static, partnerned with (say) a Houndoom you could switch Magical Leaf for Solarbeam and go double Solarbeam using Sunny Day from Houndoom while Leechseed goes in the first turn. Fly allows it to heal in the air, Leftovers AND Leech Seed is no small amount. Something like Rain Dish would be even better, but as it stands, Synthesis could be switched for Protect (alternate with Fly) and Magical Leaf could be switched for Attract/Safeguard/Substitute. Even throw in Swagger over Fly and its only problem would be Grass types and Rapid Spinners (I think).

Thoughts anyone?

If the main objective of this Tropius is draining then I think you should replace Magical Leaf with Giga Drain.

I would ditch fly altogether. The reason you don't fly, dig, or dive is because it gives your foe a chance to switch to a pokemon that can take advantage of you and with a 4x weakness to ice, tropiuses would fall pretty fast.

Agreed, but the point behind Fly was the same as Dive on Ludicolo, since both {ludicolo} and {tropius} can learn Leech Seed. Add in Leftovers and you're healing a good amount every turn, double that with Fly because only Sky Uppercut hits you when on the Fly (literally). But I agree, Trumpius would fall pretty quick to a good ice beam.

No, there are like three besides Sky Uppercut (Gust comes to mind), but I think that's the best/most commonly used.

Anti-Escape Moves: (off the top of my head so forgive incompleteness)

Fly:
Gust, Twister

Dive:
Surf (tried this myself)

Dig:
EQ, Magnitude

Bounce:
Sky Uppercut (tried this myself)

Sky Uppercut hits Bounce, not Fly (unless it hits both). I can't htink of anymore escape movs.

Wouldn't HP ice be better for pokemon that resist thunder and water pulse?

Grrr. tiger always take a few days off whenever I submit a good creative moveset. How dare he have social life and other things to do when I want him to do something for me for free. >.<
