A little creepy and scary and whatnot, but for only a few paragraphds you control the reader's emotions to perfection. Normally I'd say it needs length, but the shortness while still ebign good is actually one of its good points.. plus, adding onto length may change the effect.

That's true for everyone, unfortunatley...

It is good, don't get me wrong. It's just that, I've seen too many Twilight Zones, Outer Limits, or read too many scary stories about dolls to see this as anything but good.

I did like that you threw me for a loop at the end. I was expecting you to have the doll look in the miror for the first time and discover that it's either very ugly or it's something other than a doll.

Still, it was good.

I think you may be confused Dave. The 'doll' is a human, she's in an asylum because she thinks she's a doll. So I guess you expected correctly.
