Ariados can learn Baton Pass and Signal Beam although it requires extra breeding. You can get multiple egg moves as long as you plan out little chains that you can work with to help it along. In this case, you could level up a male Ledyba to 29, teach it Baton Pass, breed to get a Volbeat and level that up to 25 to teach it Signal Beam, and end with breeding with a female Spinarak/Ariados.

Ah, i can breed a baton pass onto a volbeat who learns signal beam naturally. its all so obvious now
This breeding is more complicated than the psydex makes out!
Thanks for the help everyone!

I am trying to decide which EVs to give to my Regis, their stats are:
Regirock- Jolly Nature (+Speed, - Special Attack)
HP Attack Defense Sp. Atk Sp. Def Speed
120 94 174 51 90 49
Regice- Timid Nature )+ Speed - Attack)
HP Attack Defense Sp. Atk Sp. Def Speed
125 40 86 93 169 49
Registeel- Quirky Nature (No Effect)
HP Attack Defense Sp. Atk Sp. Def Speed
114 67 131 67 128 51
I have not EV Trained any of them yet, but I am trying to decide which EVs would be best for them. Thanks in advanced.

I can't decide EV spreads for your Regis based on the stats alone. We'll need to see the movesets to decide on EV spreads that complement the movesets. As such, I would suggest you post these, together with the movesets, in the Rating Center. I trust you can find the Rating Center on your own

I had a sneaking suspision that you could only have one egg move (unless an egg parent can learn one and be bred one).
Ah well, it'll be a Giga Drain instead of Recover for my Lileep then!
hang on, does that mean i wont be able to have an Ariados with Signal Beam AND Baton Pass. That could be the end of the workd for me!
No. Corsola learns all.
Larvitar->Totodile->Corsola->
Level up that Male corsola to get recover and mirror coat, then breed w/ female lileep.
Hey sN0w, should we maybe have a breeding questions thread? Like, it would deal with breeding chains and any real questions?

Cheers Peanut lover.
Sounds like a good idea. I know the main site has breeding chains on it, but thats only for individual moves, it doesn't help with building a moveset.

When you EV train a certain stat like Attack. How many extra stats are added? I think someone on Neoseeker said 61, but he/she could've meant for all 510 EVs.

If you can mix records with somebody, EV training is simplified. The following pokemon award 3 points to their stat, at the lowest levels:
3HP: Wigglytuff (Level 3)(Mt. Moon-Fire Red/Leaf Green)
3Atk: Shiftry (Level 15)
3Def: Golem (Level 25)
3Speed: Raichu (Level 3) (Pikachu in Viridian Forest-Fire Red/Leaf Green)
3SAtk: Beautifly (Level 10)
3SDef: Dustox (Level 10)
However, easy places to ev train w/o mixing are:
HP:Whismur (cave to east of rustboro)
Atk: Shuppet (Mt. Pyre)
Special Def: Tentacool (anywhere you can surf)
Speed: Zubat/Golbat (Cave of origin{RuSA}/Altering Cave{Emerald})
Defense and special attack evs are spread among pokemon. But, they mingle with pokemon who don't give you evs that you want. (ie, skarmory and sandshrew for defense mingle with spinda for satk.)

Also you can get a whole bunch of defense EVs in Magma Hideout.

Through careful training and log books. (I have my papers around me all of the time. I am trying to EV train, myself.) No other way. If you think you screwed up, just use the EV lowering berries.
For more info on evs, go to my last post and click the link.

I recently restarted my Emerald and I've just caught a Lotad with a Timid nature and Rain Dish. Should I train it to be a Drainer or a Special Sweeper?

Why waste time Bredding to get Mega Drain when I can use a TM to get Giga Drain ?
Thanks, though.

Giga Drain has a maximum of 8pp, while mega drain has 10 pp, without any pp ups.

I understand you get Red Tent in Ruby and Blue Tent in Sapphire, but what about Emerald when you defeated the Trick Master?
