I found something similar in a Harry Potter site, and I thought it would be interesting. So... How do you pronounce Psypoke?

PS: I voted for "Psy - po - kay."

Well, we've had this topic before, and the general concensus has always fallen on "Sigh-Poe-Kay" for the correct pronunciation. Granted, how you personally pronounce it doesn't really matter. So, there's your history lesson for the day.

I've said psy-po-kay for about six years now, so I hope I haven't been wrong.

why Psy-poke, if the origin comes from Psychic + Pokemon? put the two together and say it slowly "Sigh-Poe-Kay" :?:

I always pronounced it "sigh-poke", I never pronounced the 'P' in 'Psy'.

"P" is silent in psychic, I thought.

Anyway, I've been saying it 'sigh-poe-kay'.

As one of the webmasters, as well as a guy who pronounces PsyPoke with either pronunciation, I think I'll deem both "psy-poke," and "psy-po-kay," official.

Yeah, and seriously Nido, the P is always silent. Nobody says "puhsychic," or "puhsalm," haha.

Okay, if the magnificent, green haired moltres deems it legel, then it's legel. Yay.

Go sigh-poe-kay!

I've always said Psy-Poke. Still do, actually. Psy-Po-Kay sounds a little funny to me somehow.

Well, when you say you pronounce it like "psy-poke", it seems like you mean that you pronounce the 'P' as well. If this is the case, than the two choices should be changed to "sigh-poke" or "sigh-poe-kay".

For example: Saying that "Psypoke" is pronounced "psy-poke" is like saying that pneumonia is pronounced "pneu-monia". Just like it is correct to say that pneumonia is pronounced "new-mow-nee-ah", it should be said that Psypoke is pronounced "sigh-poke" (or even "sigh-powk").

i agree with you, and theorically and technically if it was to be pronounced sigh-po-kay then surely it would need an accent on the e (psypok

As the e does not have a ` above it then I voted Psypoke [s-eye-poke]. You'll notice everytime I write Pok
