Will the tournament be themed to whatever you applied, a tournament for each type, or a tourney for each position?

Would be weird to challenge a normal team against a fighting, or for everyone to use their best pokemon for tourney but have a weak themed team.

This is a great idea and would be awesome if the forums got involved. I've started posting on another forum because they have a system like this in place, but I would just stay on Psypoke for everything if we started this.

I'd try superhard to be the Normal gym leader too. :3 Normal types rock.

Perhaps gym leaders would make a badge and someone could make a mini image to keep track of what badges you have for your signature, or an addon of sorts of the trainer card (like I have the addon to the right for my team).

As far as 'people to take over for the gym leader if they disappear', the other forum I mentioned earlier has gym trainers in place. You have to beat all of them before you can take on the gym leader. They're the people who placed 2nd, 3rd, so on in the individual tournaments for types. If the gym leader takes off, the remaining gym trainers can battle for the spot.

Anyway, this is an awesome idea and I'd love to help out anyway I can. I'm decent at Paintshop Pro (I'm not a big fan of Photoshop) and would be happy to make stuff/help organize things.

As far as tourneys to organize go, perhaps there can just be one for each type, with each trainer making a team of that type of Pokémon, that way there isn't like Gal said in the last post, a Normal team going up against a Fighting team. Whoever wins the type tournament is the gym leader, then perhaps 2nd and 3rd place are the gym trainers.

Then all the gym leaders can create a team of whatever they want and battle for a spot in the Elite 4. The top 5 trainers move to the Elite 4 and the 2nd place gym trainers in the winning gyms move to gym leader (and then whoever placed 4th in each gym type battle becomes the second gym trainer).

Then the 5 that won battle it out for the champion spot. Whoever wins is the Champion, the last 4 stay as the Elite 4.

Individuals can battle up to possibly become the Champion. You'd have to get all the gym badges (by beating both gym trainers and the gym leader) and beat the Elite 4. After that, you face the Champion. If you win, you become the new champion.

Those are just some ideas that came to my head. I'm sure they could be fleshed out in a better order or more clearly. If you'd like me to, I can. Just thought I'd throw this all out there.

Could you host it on photobucket or something and post the link? That way everyone can see it. Otherwise the only way I can see it is if you e-mail it to me, since my Trillian doesn't seem to like file transfers.

Yeah, me and faceless had a talk and decided on a league to decide on who will be the elite 4 and leaders, so that everyone faces ach other and we ge tthe best of the best, more will be explained soon.

I think all of this sounds awesome. It would be fun.

Crap i wanted to be a dark type gym leader. W/e If anything, i'll be a ghost type Gym leader. I got a team ready and willing.

So lemme get this straight: When the time comes, there will be a tournament as to deside who makes Gym leader/Elite 4, correct?

Also, it says on the main thread that gym leaders and elites should add variety to their team. Does this mean that the Fire type gym leader should have pokemon OTHER than fire? Or did you mean Fire/(enter type here) as a mixed?

Last thing...what seperates Gym Leaders from Elites? Just the level of pokemon or what?

All will be shown soon, but one thing is, it wont be type it will be themes, as to have a bit more variation.

What do you mean by theme? The only thing else I can think of other than type is perhaps color.

By theme I mean:
Human type pokemon, urban type, forest etc.

Ohhhhh, I gotcha. But wouldn't someone use the "rare" theme and nuke all? I mean, most of the legendaries are classified under the rare pokemon theme. (Least in FireRed & LeafGreen)

You'll eventually need to come up with a set list of EXACTLY what is and isn't an uber. You know at least SOMEONE will try to push the envelope, or not realize that their pokemon is uber. Also, are you going to allow legendaries that aren't ubers? For example... one can use anything from any of the "trio" groups, but you can only use ONE of those in your team, yadda yadda... or, are all legendaries out?
