Round one - getting to know YOU

In this round, you will be required to tell me about yourself. Please include all the interesting information about yourself, and I will grade on neatness, time taken to write it, and how awesome I think you are from it. Don't half ass it either; if you know you suck at spelling, you had better get out a dictionary. I expect you to write this in your best quality, and include as much information and go into depth about it. I will judge on length of post, if your interests are relevant to mine, and neatness.

The winner of this round will be granted the rank of Awesome for exactly 24 hours. The loser will be IP banned from the forums for exactly 24 hours. Two people will be exiting this round because they are not awesome, but that doesn't necessarily mean I'll ban both. Please keep in mind that this is a round to show me if you're awesome enough to take part in the more awesome rounds, so I will remove those who do not quality accordingly.

OK, well let's start with the basics. I was born in Sydney 27 years ago. I finished high school in 1997, and then did a BSc, majoring in pure mathematics, and gaining an honours level, top of my year. After that I did my PhD on braids and transformation semigroups (that should sound meaningless to 99.99% of the population). From there I moved to Melbourne to work at La Trobe University for two years, and have just moved back to Sydney to work at Sydney University.

Family-wise, I have been married for almost 5 years. My parents were divorced when i was about 13, but I still see them both. I have two sisters and a brother who are all younger than me. My brother is gay, and I am the only child of my parents who doesn't have a boyfriend (haha). I have no living grandparents, but my wife does; her maternal grandmother is 93, and her paternal grandfather is 94. We don't have any children yet, but we have a dog called Charlie who is about 3 months old.

I have many hobbies, and when I start one, I usually get pretty obsessed with it (as my wife would testify to!). Usually I get quite good, although I don't usually become a complete master at them. So, I'm pretty good at chess (if I had an official ranking, it would be about 1400-1500), I'm quite good at the guitar (I play metal - I love Dream Theater, Iron Maiden, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, etc), I'm good at juggling (can juggle 4 balls easily, and am learning to do 5 balls), I'm OK at cricket (I started this late in life, and had to work very hard to improve, but I liked the fact that I wasn't a natural, and had to work hard for my limited amount of success). My latest hobby of course is Pokemon!!! Again, I'm pretty good at it, but I certainly wouldn't rate myself too high. I'm pretty good at breeding (natures, IVs, egg moves, etc), and battling, and my latest pokemon hobby is chaining for shinies. My greatest accomplishment pokemon-wise would probably be getting all 7 gold symbols in the emerald battle frontier; man that was hard! I got a gold trainer card in emerald, and I have a black trainer card in pearl.

Well, there's a lot more I could say about myself. Some is good, and some is bad. But that should be enough to get us going. I'm looking forward to hearing about other people!

I was born in an awesome place called Green Hill Zone. I spent my childhood with my trusty dog named Salt and trained daily trying to get my power level over 9000. My parents neglected me and every time I tried to ask for food they just obnoxiously shouted "YOUR FACE" at me. As a result I became a very independent pogeyman masta. I tried to court females by reciting the pokerap, which was so irresistible that they all decided to run away before they did something they would regret. The DK rap yielded similar results so I spent a lot more solo time and today I'm proud to say that I'm finally level 58. What else can I say... Pepsi > Coke, Ninja > Pirate, Boobs > *, those are my core democratic values.

what OH NO I can't be a smartass okay here's who I really am. I am Ben and I reside in Michigan. I have 3 siblings and each are younger than I. My father left when I was almost 5 and if you don't already know the story you don't need to. I got into pokemon at 5 years old when I began collecting the cards and that grew into an obsession of the games near 7 or 8 years of age. Before that I lived off my SNES, and my favorite game to play was SMB 3. I never owned any sort of Sega but I would constantly play Sonic 1-3 on the Genesis at my cousin's house. In all honesty I do like the Pokerap and DK rap but I tend to refrain from displaying my mad skills in such situations as mentioned above. I enjoy Dr. Pepper or anything orange flavored for pop. For food I will eat all of anything you give me, with the exception of things like cauliflower and squash. I especially enjoy italtian, chinese, and mexican food (maybe or maybe not in that order). Moving away from detail, I'm male, 15 years old, and I'm a sophomore at my local high school. I'm pretty tall for my age and I have the coolest gut you have ever seen. Sometimes I like to make rhythms by OKAY THIS IS GETTING WEIRD I recently moved a crappy computer into my room so now I neglect to go to sleep. I'm on IRC daily, chiefly DarkMyst, and I took up mIRC Scripting as a hobby quite some time ago. Other random things I like to do include compiling crappy meme collages and passing them off as constructive posts and also ordering pizzas for random people on the internet! Today I play pokemon monthly at best and waste my time on other games like Maple Story (lol), various Final Fantasy games, and Guitar Hero.
