so what about other choice items? Do they also increase 1.5x??
Coice Band= x1.5 Attack. Less than a Swords Dance. Not worth it because you can only use 1 attack. It is worth it, though when you have a poke that can't learn a certain stat modifier.
Coice Band= x1.5 Special Attack. Less than a Tail Glow. Not worth it because you can only use 1 attack. It is worth it, though when you have a poke that can't learn a certain stat modifier.
But pokemon like ninjask probaly will get killed at the round they use sword dance and if it use with move like fury cutter it can be very usefull

If my read-over was correct, the following people still need rates:
empoleon99
Wilesthegreat
rumetz
sasory674
Just putting this here to remind the raters so that the requests don't get lost.

I knew I missed one or two -- well, four in this case, but whatever.
empoleon99 wrote: can someone plz rate my team because this is the third or fourth time i have had to do this and i would like to know how good and/or bad it is and i will take constructed critism,
i'm not too sure on my team but i would like to have it rated (by the way i dont know what EV's
are really so i wont do them) so here goes:
If you don't want to use EVs, then that's fine. I'll try to adjust to how you play, in regards to movesets. Really though, teams for casual play or against casual friends can be anything. You can only go so far without EVs.
@leftovers
Sassy-torrent
~surf
~earthquake
~avalanche/ drill peck
~flash cannon/ thunder
My thing with Flash Cannon is it doesn't have great coverage at all. I wouldn't advise that move, but if this is casual, then go for it. As for thunder, Empoleon can't learn that move. What do you want this guy to be? Special or physical? Or mixed? I would give him Grass Knot and Ice Beam. As for the last move, you could give it anything, such as Brine(?), Yawn, Roar, Hidden Power Ground, Substitute, etc, etc. I would stay away from physical attacks, since his physical attack isn't so great, unless you're trying to make him a purely physical pokemon. The only exceptions, IMO, are Earthquake (Hidden Power Ground if you have it) and Drill Peck.
Sassy isn't the best nature for it; Calm or Modest would be better (of course, unless you're using a physical set). Just look up the natures and see which one fits the best. Leftovers is fine for an item. Choice Specs is an option if you're looking for some punch.
@focus band
Careful-blaze
~blaze kick
~sky uppercut
~brick break
~overheat
Focus Band isn't that good of an item, since you're letting luck decide things, unless you're fine with that. "Luck items" are banned by some people anyway. Focus Sash is better if you want something guaranteed. Life Orb or even Expert Belt works too. Careful...not so much, since it drops special attack for more special defense. Give it one of the +speed natures, unless you plan to Choice Scarf it. If you scarf it, then give it one of the +attack/+special attack natures. As for movesets, it depends on whether or not you want it mixed or not. No need for Brick Break, since you have Sky Uppercut. Give it instead Stone Edge. Flare Blitz is better than Blaze Kick in almost every way (except for the backlash). He's fragile, so it doesn't matter if he loses health. Pick one and only one fire move. I would go with Flare Blitz, since 1. Blaziken has a better physical attack stat. 2. He can attack more times, without having his stat weaken. Instead, give him Thunder Punch (you can only get it through Emerald move tutors) or Earthquake.
@lum berry
Modest-intimidate
~swagger
~discharge
~thunder fang
~crunch
Ice Fang over swagger, since ice and electric make a good attack combination. Return over Thunder Fang, since it can do a lot of damage, and you already have an electric type. If you must use Thunder Fang, then use Spark instead, because it's better in every way; more pp, better accuracy, and has a higher chance of activating its effect. Thunderbolt over discharge if you want more power. Life Orb is the only thing that comes to mind. Lum isn't too useful on Luxray, cuz most people won't need to status it to take it down.
@miracle seed/persim berry
Quiet-natural cure
~petal dance
~synthesis
~toxic
~grass knot
Good, good, you have Natural Cure. Go with a timid nature. I wouldn't suggest dropping its speed; that's one if its strong points. Focus Sash works best on it, since it's frail. Items that boost power is nice too, but make sure it boosts a good amount (above 10% and boosts more than one type). Definitely give sleep powder. Roserade is too frail to use Synthesis, unless you Sleep Powder first, but that's assuming sleep clause isn't in effect. Remember, it doesn't heal as much if there is another weather effect in play (besides Sunny Day). Synthesis isn't really good on Roserade though. Put Hidden Power Fire (70 bp) over Petal Dance if you can get it. The problem with Petal Dance is not because of the confusion at the end, but rather because of the 2-3 turn lock; people can easily switch in a Pokemon that resists grass (there are plenty), so that's why Persim berry isn't needed. Toxic Spikes is an alternative to toxic if you want.
@scope lens
Mild-sand veil
~dragon rush
~dig (trying to get EQ)
~aerial ace
~crunch
Jolly is the best nature for Garchomp. Adamant is good too, but Jolly is preferred; you'll want all the speed you can get. Even with scope lens, I wouldn't suggest Dragon Rush, because you're having to spend an item slot for one move, which could simply be replaced by Dragon Claw or Outrage (breed for it). Yep, EQ>Dig. Swords Dance instead of Aerial Ace - makes him really powerful. Earthquake and Dragon Claw alone hits a lot of things for super effective damage, so that's why you'll want Fire Fang instead of Crunch. It's to hit the steels that resist/are immune to Dragon Claw and Earthquake. Crunch is mainly for Cresselia (Dusknoir too), but it's not very useful against anything else. Give chomp Yache Berry or life orb (yache=better). Garchomp is only allowed in ubers, at least on Psypoke, so if you challenge someone from Psypoke, then keep that in mind. I don't quite agree with the new banning, but whatever.
@sitrus berry
Mild-intimidate
~aerial ace
~fly (i know, but its mainly for travel)
~close combat
~brave bird
Adamant or Jolly would be best on this guy. Mild boosts the stat that it doesn't use (SpA). My suggestion for traveling is get a different Pokemon to be your HM slave, so your Staraptor wouldn't be trapped with only 3 moves. I, too, was in your shoes, when I used a Staraptor. Might I suggest a Latios? (Seriously though, legendaries are great HM slaves) Get rid of Aerial Ace and Fly (too many flying moves). Definitely give it Endeavor. After Brave Bird has taken its toll, it makes a cool move before going down. There are lots of options for this guy. Double Edge, Pursuit, U-Turn, Quick Attack, etc, etc. Roost works too, but this guy's kinda frail to use it effectively. Item? Mm, I can't think of any that fits this guy the best. A berry that boosts a stat is a nice idea. You can't really abuse it though. Sitrus is okay I guess.
so thats my team what do you think????
Half of your team is weak to ice (very common). Half of your team gets wrecked by ground attacks (very common). You have nothing even close to walls, barring Empoleon (more of a tank than a wall). 1/3 of your team is weak to electric assaults (threat level: so-so Rarity: fairly common). Choice Scarf Heatran and OU dragons may pose a threat. Electivire poses a threat (if it's faster than Garchomp). Starmie can and will rampage through your team. Overall, your team has some balancing and resistance issues.
Max_LKC wrote: But pokemon like ninjask probaly will get killed at the round they use sword dance and if it use with move like fury cutter it can be very usefull
To use Swords Dance, most people give it a Focus Sash and have it lead a battle. Fury Cutter isn't very good, cuz its base power is extremely low (the bottom of the bottom). You're not gonna be able to use it enough times to bring it up to a respectable level.
Jeneus wrote: Max_LKC wrote: koipen wrote: Scarf increases speed by 1.5x, but allows to use only the same move untill switched out.
so what about other choice items? Do they also increase 1.5x??
Coice Band= x1.5 Attack. Less than a Swords Dance. Not worth it because you can only use 1 attack. It is worth it, though when you have a poke that can't learn a certain stat modifier.
Coice Band= x1.5 Special Attack. Less than a Tail Glow. Not worth it because you can only use 1 attack. It is worth it, though when you have a poke that can't learn a certain stat modifier.
Yeah, it's worth it alright. Just depends on style and what you need. For example if you don't want the hassle of setting up.

If you want a Wall usually Bronzong is a better option because he got both physical and Special Defense and have only two weakness and it's ability take care of one the weakness... but Metagross works nicely too.
I will suggest a Bronzong moveset...

Nature:Relaxed
252 HP / 128 Atk / 128 SpD
Levitate

Adamant is a better nature because it doesn't lowers you defense like lonely does.
Leftovers as item. Use the Technician Ability so you can have better choices on his moveset. For the moveset itself,i suggest those moves: Aerial Ace,Brick Break,Iron Head,Pursuit,Roost.
Lapras
Item: ???
nature: ???
moves
Perish song
whirlpool/mean look
Ice Beam/Brine
???
If you want a perish trapping lapras,it's better to make it the most bulkier you can...
Use a Calm or Bold nature and use Leftovers as Item and this moveset
-Ice Beam
-Whirlpool
-Perish Song
-Protect
But i don't recommend using it like this because whirlpool isn't a very reliable move and Lapras have some key weakness that ruins that kind of strategy...like Rock, electric and Fighting
I recommend using a full special sweeper set or one of those...
Flygon

Dragon Claw
Draco meteor/earthquake

Well it depends on the rest of the team. But Dusknoir looks fine too. but use those EVs and Moveset

It only doubles the Attack Stat of the pokémon. it has no effect on base damage or Sp.Attack.

So I'm currently working on an Arcanine to replace the kingdra on my team. I looked at shoddy but none give any suggestion for a solarbeam based set
I'm doing a bulky set as it should survive an EQ and outspeed TTars
Bold @ Intimidate. Power herb/perhaps a type resist berry/expert belt
240 HP / 160 Def / 28 SpA / 80 Spe
-Dragon Pulse (hitting dragons and other fires) or Dig (takes care of heatran and can use the power herb as well, doubt I'll use this though)
-Solarbeam (Hits all his type counters hard, Power herb is for the ability to launch a beam right off then sunny day to launch more)
-Flamethrower/Heat wave/Flare blitz (debating here mostly between Flamethrower and Blitz. Mix-type would be nice, but not the recoil)
-Sunny day (Removes water weakness, powers his fire move and solarbeam)
He also works great with my skill-swaping mismagius in doubles, as when intimidate is swapped it's effects are renewed as well as Arcanine will be immune to ground.
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance
P.S. also any unique food names I can nickname him would be great XD

If u have problems rating my dusknoir then this is my team and please help me rate it as well, thanks
1. Dusknoir@Leftovers Ability: Pressure
Nature: Adamant EV: 252HP 78ATK 90SP.DEF 90DEF
Will-o-Wisp
Shadow punch
Drain Punch
Substitute
(Physical tanker)
Dusknoir is hard to be defeated so Substitude is good and Drain punch just cover up the HP usage of substitute since it's defence and Spdef are high i gave it some ATK evs and less DEF and SPDEF evs. If bronzong is better than it tell me
2.Milotic@Shell bell Ability: Marvel Scale
Nature: Modest EV: 124HP 252DEF 132SP.ATK
Surf
Ice Beam
Recover
Toxic
(Special Tanker)
My milotic is a tanker so toxic is better than hypnosis and it's SPDEF is already very high so i give it some SPATK evs and less SPDEF evs
3. Tryantitar @Expert Belt Ability: Sand Stream
Nature: Impish EV: 140SP.DEF 150DEF 160ATK 60SPD
Dragon Dance
Earthquake
Stone Edge
Crunch
(Physical Sweeper)
I gave it def and spdef evs so that it won't be knocked down easily because fighting pkm can KO it when i'm using dragon dance and because my team has no dark type attacks i gave it crunch
4. Garchomp @Life Orb Ability: Sand Veil
Nature: Adamant EV: 252ATK 252SPD 6HP
Earthquake
Sword Dance
Dragon Claw
Fire Fang
(Physical Sweeper)
I have no moves againts a pkm like bronzong and skaromy so i gave it fire fang
5. Gengar @Expert Belt Ability: Levitate
Nature: Timid EV: 252SP.ATK 252SPD 6HP
Energy Ball
Shadow Ball
Psychic
Thunderbolt
(Special Sweeper)
This is the biggest problem in my team i want a fast and strong phychic pkm that can learn energy ball cuz i have no grass type attacks gallade can learn leaf blade but if i use it my team will have too much physical sweeper and roserade is good but it dosen't have any attacks that can handle stll type pkm so i would like to ask if the raters can suggest another non-legendary pkm to replace it if it is fine then tell me
6. Charizard@Scope Lens Ability: Blaze
Nature: Modest EV: 252SP.ATK 252SPD 6HP
Flamethrower
Air Slash
Dragon Pulse
Focus Blast
(Special Sweeper)
I can't think of a better item than scpoe lens and i can only obtain 1 life orb in the game i want to ask if giving it choice specs is a good idea

@Leftovers My Miltank is already using leftovers :/
Nature:Bold
EVs:240 HP / 160 Def / 28 SpA / 80 Spe
Intimidate
-Flamethrower / Fire Blast
-SolarBeam
-Hidden Power [Ground / Ice] Ice would be awesome, as I want a move he can counter dragons with. But that depends on how patient I am breeding good DV growlithes... Also I would be at a loss at other fire types. As well as using ground would leave me at a loss for all the dragon/fly or fire/fly types.
-Sunny Day
as for the name ...
What about Pepper, Spicy or Hot-Dog? ( ) Spicy and Pepper have been used, Hot-dog is a little too.... lol

Strategy: Use Dark Void, when they switch stick in a Calm Mind and hit them where it hurts.

Hey Raters. I'm soon getting a Darkrai, with Roar of time, and Spacial Rend, could you rate my proposed set?
 @ ???
Nature: ???
EVs: 252 Sp. ATK, 252 SPD, 6HP
Bad Dreams
-Dark Pulse
-Dark Void
-Nightmare
-Spacial Rend
Please note that I intend to swap this for my Sub-punching (I know that was a bad idea now) Mewtwo, which has the following:
 @ Leftovers
Nature Brave
Evs I messed up big time on, so I don't know
-Shadow Ball
-Substitute
-Focus Punch
-Aura Sphere (I did have Recover)
Could you suggest what I can change Mewtwo's attacks to? And am I right to swap Darkrai in?

1. Dusknoir@Leftovers Ability: Pressure
Nature: Adamant EV: 252HP 78ATK 90SP.DEF 90DEF
Will-o-Wisp
Shadow punch
Drain Punch
Substitute
(Physical tanker)
Dusknoir is hard to be defeated so Substitude is good and Drain punch just cover up the HP usage of substitute since it's defence and Spdef are high i gave it some ATK evs and less DEF and SPDEF evs. If bronzong is better than it tell me
Dusknoir has good defenses, but his HP is too low, Substitute is not a good move to use with himI suggest using Will-o-Wisp,Pain Split,Shadow Sneak and one of those three:Thunder Punch,Ice Punch and Earthquake. Use a Relaxed or Sassy nature and on EVs maximize your Special Defense and put a little investiment on your physicak defense because you have W-o-W,to soften some physical threats.
2.Milotic@Shell bell Ability: Marvel Scale
Nature: Modest EV: 124HP 252DEF 132SP.ATK
Surf
Ice Beam
Recover
Toxic
(Special Tanker)
My milotic is a tanker so toxic is better than hypnosis and it's SPDEF is already very high so i give it some SPATK evs and less SPDEF evs
Atcually Toxic isn't "better" than hypnosis,it just have another use. anyway...Sounds good.
3. Tryantitar @Expert Belt Ability: Sand Stream
Nature: Impish EV: 140SP.DEF 150DEF 160ATK 60SPD
Dragon Dance
Earthquake
Stone Edge
Crunch
(Physical Sweeper)
I gave it def and spdef evs so that it won't be knocked down easily because fighting pkm can KO it when i'm using dragon dance and because my team has no dark type attacks i gave it crunch
Make it like this...
@Leftovers/Life Orb
Nature:Jolly
EVs:4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
-Crunch
-Earthquake
-Stone Edge / Ice Beam
-Dragon Dance
4. Garchomp @Life Orb Ability: Sand Veil
Nature: Adamant EV: 252ATK 252SPD 6HP
Earthquake
Sword Dance
Dragon Claw
Fire Fang
(Physical Sweeper)
I have no moves againts a pkm like bronzong and skaromy so i gave it fire fang
If you want a Swords Dance Chomp make it Jolly. Nothing much besides that.
5. Gengar @Expert Belt Ability: Levitate
Nature: Timid EV: 252SP.ATK 252SPD 6HP
Energy Ball
Shadow Ball
Psychic
Thunderbolt
(Special Sweeper)
This is the biggest problem in my team i want a fast and strong phychic pkm that can learn energy ball cuz i have no grass type attacks gallade can learn leaf blade but if i use it my team will have too much physical sweeper and roserade is good but it dosen't have any attacks that can handle stll type pkm so i would like to ask if the raters can suggest another non-legendary pkm to replace it if it is fine then tell me
Well Psychic and Grass is not a good combination of moves because they don't got a good coverage unless you got a Electric or Fire attack to use together with it... But if you really want one,Alakazam can learn Energy Ball too. If you gonna use Gengar...use like this:
@Life Orb / Wide Lens
Nature:Timid
EVs:4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
-Shadow Ball
-Focus Blast
-Thunderbolt
-Hypnosis
6. Charizard@Scope Lens Ability: Blaze
Nature: Modest EV: 252SP.ATK 252SPD 6HP
Flamethrower
Air Slash
Dragon Pulse
Focus Blast
(Special Sweeper)
I can't think of a better item than scpoe lens and i can only obtain 1 life orb in the game i want to ask if giving it choice specs is a good idea
Yes,Choice Specs ias good idea for item. But use with a Timid Nature,so you can outspeed more things...

Calm / Serene Grace / Leftovers
252 HP / 252 SpD / 6 Def
~ Roost
~ Thunder Wave
~ Air Slash
~ Aura Sphere / Grass Knot / Flamthrower (?)
I 've thought about replacing Aura Sphere with Grass Knot to scare off Ground types that attempts to switch into Thunder Wave, also it'd be my team's only move to counter Swampert, but I'd give up covering Steel and Normal which means I'm gonna be walled/sponged quite often. Flamthrower is another option that I'm considering since I have problems with Skarmory. Considering what my other pokes have, which one should I choose? Thanks in advance.
Jolly / Inner Force / Lum Berry
4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
~ Dragon Dance
~ Outrage
~ Earthquake
~ Fire Blast
Modest / Water Absorb / Leftovers
188 HP / 252 Def / 68 SpA
~ Ice-Beam
~ Surf
~ Roar
~ Wish
Yup, Roar, because I desperately needed a hazer, and I didn't choose Yawn because it doesn't go through Substitutes and it kinda needs protect to max its efficiency.
Jolly / Pressure / Expert Belt
252 Atk / 252 Spe / 6 HP
~ Pursuit
~ Ice Shard
~ Ice Punch
~ Brick Break
Ice Shard to hit Substitute and Baton Pass users, also when my team's about to be sweapt by an Agility/DD opponent who's weak after setting up, Ice Shard could hopefully finish it off (although I'd have to sacrafice one of my pokes to safely switch Weavile out).
Impish / Pressure / Leftovers
252 HP / 252 Def / 6 SpD
~ Pain Split
~ Will-O-Wisp
~ Thunder Punch
~ Shadow Sneak
Careful / Thick Fat / Leftovers
168 HP / 120 Def / 220 SpD
~ Rest
~ Curse
~ Fire Punch
~ Body Slam
I initially used a Sleep Talk set, but Togekiss and Vaporeon seem to help out in sponging so I thought this might be more useful? I've been recommended to give up Snorlax and use a mixed Metagross instead... but I'm kinda reluctant to make such a change since I like Snorlax quite a bit. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks again!

Use Jolly nature.
Empoleon@Leftovers

~ Grass Knot
~ Roar
Looks good.
Swampert@Leftovers
Relaxed
240 HP / 216 Def / 52 SpA

Standard.
Skarmory@Chesto Berry
Sturdy
Impish
252 HP / 96 Atk / 156 Def / 4 Spe

Adamant
44 HP / 252 Atk / 212 Spe

I know that this one is a standard, but i suggest using either Seed Bomb or Stone Edge over Leech Seed,Since you want to make it a sweeper.
Gliscor@Leftovers
Sand Veil
Impish
252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
~ Earthquake
~ Roost
~ Rock Polish
~ Baton Pass

Good, you could try a Scarf-Tran too,but you're Ok with this one.
I know theres nine but i don't know which ones i should ditch or what i should pickup so help please! Maybe Claydol for spinning or Magnezone for special sweeping?
p.s. Tyranitar, Swampert, and Skarmory make a very solid battle tower team
Is hard to say what you should ditch or not,so i gonna put write a little about everyone ...
-Tyranitar, since you want a SandStorm team, you'll need this one (or a ).
-Garchomp, one of the best choices for a SandStorm team.
-Empoleon, good special wall that is able to attack nicely too. Good counter to SpecsMence.
-Swampert, great pokémon to use on sandstorm teams, immunity to sandstorm and electric type,Resistance to Rock make him a good choice.
-Skarmory, great physical wall and have only two weakness, but nowdays anyone can counter a skarmory.
-Blissey, great Tank but the sandstorm will literally ruins her... and just like Skamory, everyone will have a powerful Fighting move to ruin her,but she's not a bad choice.
-Breloom, this thing is evil. Spore something slow,Sub on the switch,Blast whatever comes in with your powerful physical moves, and poison heal makes it recover double the damage it suffers by Sandstom making him a good choice.
-Gliscor, it's only a baton passer,Breloom really would love the speed boost but there's nothing in it besides that.If he's your last pokémon, you're toasted.
-Heatran, good Special Sweeper,he have some common weakness like water, fighting and ground, but have some useful resistances like Normal,Rock,Fire,Grass,Ice,Ghost,Dragon and Dark.
Anyway... Sorry for the delay...
I didn't seen this one before...

Instead of gliscor should I give somebody trick room?
Remeber Gliscor is a good wall...
I think i might use Claydol as a spinner
Claydol
Sassy
Levitate
252 HP/129 SP DEF/129 SP Attack
Earthquake
Rapid Spin
Psychic
Ice Beam

Yes, gliscor is a good wall, but the baton passer can't do nothing to the opponents besides Earthquake.if you have anything immune or that resists ground you can easily beat gliscor. A Swords Dance Heracross is a good example.
And if you're gonna use Trick Room, having a team that can abuse it is a must.
or you're going to ruin some pokémons on your team like garchomp, heatran and breloom.

How exactly does trick room work? Is it base stats or total stats? Because now I am tempted to do hippowdon, registeel, regirock, skarmory, swampert, totterra, claydol and mamoswine... or something like that on a trick room sandstorm team. Or is my other team better?
