Consecutive Punch? Whatever...

Spiritomb and Rotom play very differently - Rotom allows for a more important immunity (ground) than rotoms. It resists flying, which is super important.

What is more important is the STAB, as Rotom gets STAB on 2 move types - ghost and dark - that really doesn't give that much coverage. Rotom, on the other hand, hits through most steels (STAB on Thunder/Thunderbolt), and has other moves to back it up - overheat in toaster form, Blizzard, Hydro Pump, Leaf Storm, Air Slash in the other forms.

I remember a while back thinking, "Oh, if only Scizor knew Bullet Punch...maybe in Platinum." My prayers are answered! I look forward to that, and the bunches of other move tutors. Too bad for Dragonite though; it has less to boast now.

I like the Fridge form!! I hope that it'll be ghost. ->

Ghost= 5 weaknesses
Electric w/ levitate= 2....

Nevermind! Let's make it electric

Ghosts only have 2 weaknesses and has 2 immunities, whereas electric has 1 weakness (none with levitate).

Ghost/Ice: 5 weaknesses total, 3 resistances, 3 immunities (assuming it has levitate)
Electric/Ice: 4 weaknesses total, 4 resistances, 1 immunity (assuming it has levitate)

They're about even in terms of weaknesses and resistances, but I think the 2 extra immunities gained from the ghost typing is more worthwhile.

Edit: Deoxys-S is still in OU, right? Cuz that's what it says on Smogon.

Same dex entry = violation of species clause.

I said competitively. The whole point of competitive species clause boils down to 'your opponent can have three Salamences and if you don't manage to damage them they could switch between them and you can't tell which is which and so you have to guess if it's the one you saw before or if it has an entirely different moveset' and resorting to guesswork half the time is not good.

Things such as movepools and how various moves interact with Pokemon and abilities are determined by the Japanese names of the moves. This is why Ampharos doesn't get Tail Glow, because the name of the attack in Japan is Firefly Light, and why Iron Fist boosts Meteor Mash (which is called Comet Punch in Japan) but not Sucker Punch (which is called Ambush in Japan). It's almost certain that Iron Fist will never boost Sucker Punch unless the game gets reprogrammed for international release, and that isn't likely.

O_o aww, that sucks... still hoping for him to be tutored-able for it.

To what great irony is it that Both hitmonlee and hitmontop learn sucker punch but not hitmonchan...

Tail Glow isn't a tutor move. It might be a possible egg move with Smeargle passing it, but I doubt it.

Volke- I meant assuming that the new rotoms keep their ghost type (e.g. Ghost/Ice). I think they'd have 5 weaknesses. I forgot though because that post was a few weeks ago, and I'm too lazy to find out again.

As far as everybody knows right now, i.e. according to the ROM data, all of the Rotom forms are still Ghost/Electric with Levitate.

I've tested three new pokes on Shoddy (DDOutrageMence, BPunch Scizor and Skymin), and guess what is the most broken? Scizor. I mean, this thing is absolitely crazy. After SD, BPunch is totally crazy. It OHKOs Gengar, Skymin (After SR), Azelf, Quick attack 2HKOs Infernape, and remaining Seels can be shutted down with BB. Skymin it's not actally so overpowering (Or maybe it's just my unskillness). DDOutrage Mence just is free kill to Heatran, Weavile Mamoswine or something. Not actually so broken than I thought, so no big changes.
