On Wednesday, September 10th, Platinum was released. Within a few hours, people got to Floaroma Town, and got the Glacidia Flower, turning Shaymin into its Sky Form - SKYMIN was born.
And holy smokes, it looked like Shaymin on some Drug. It was determined that the drug was Speed for various reasons.
1.) You've all seen the pictures of the mothers on meth - their hair is spiky, they look wired for sound (as in, they are like all over the palce hyper).
2.) It got a boost in that (speed) stat.

When I say boost, I mean BOOST.

Base stats - 102 / 103 / 75 / 120 / 75 / 127


9 pokemon in the final stage outspeed it. They are Jolteon, Crobat, Aerodactyl, Mewtwo, Electrode, Deoxys, Deoxys A, Ninjask, Deoxys Speed.

Weavile, Dugtrio, Darkrai, Arceus, Starmie, Raikou, Azelf cannot beat it without a boost or two of their own (depends on if Skymin wears a scarf)
Ties with Togekiss and Arceus for Special Attack, and Roserade beats it.

BUT DOES ROSERADE 2HKO BLISSEY? NO!

Here's Skymin, in a nutshell...

102 / 103 / 75 / 120 / 75 / 127, speed last.
Grass/Flying type with serene grace.
Has Air Slash to deal with grass tyes.

Up until early Sunday, many people said "haha, my Heatran laughs. Scarfed, it outspeeds most shaymin, and KOs with Lava Plume. Skymin is also very unlikely to get HP Ground when soft resetting for one, so lolololololol"

Earth Power is a move tutor for those that have been asleep for 5 days.

SHAYMIN GETS EARTH POWER VIA TUTOR - this was part of a massive effort by smogon to find out the ins and outs of skymin. They haven't checked for Icy wind, though that is a far stretch.

Yea... On shoddy, Skymin is so evil.
The only way to effectively beat it is to either predict, iceshard, or stealthrock/spikes/toxic

No very fun to be against, as it is super speedy, super strong, and pretty darn nifty movepool.

Yep. He's down with a sinlge Ice punch/ Ice shard from Weavile, though.

With a choice scarf, he outspeeds and ohkos weavile.

Timid ScarfTran would became so poplar. It can beat the new druged trio -Scizor, Mence and Skymin- with it's moves. It switch on Seed Flare, and outspeeds and OHKOs with it's Fire move. Does same to Scizor, and if Mence is locked to Outrage, It kills it with Hp ice / Dragon Pulse. This would ofcourse lead to the rise of Suicune, which again Skymin kills.

hm. but scrymin (scarfedskymin) can probly outspeed heatran and ohko with earthpower.

But then Heatran can come safely to 4x reisted SF, and can take another with 4x resist and 106 base SpDef. If it's preidct Ep, it's a free switch to your DDMence or DD-Nite. So basicly, Heatran is foolproof counter.
