So.
I downloaded and installed NetBattle. But I can't run it.
When I click the executable it tells me that I need to have my computer set to english to run it. Okay, sure; I've been known to set my computer to Japanese, but everything else was still in english. But oh well, I'll go check anyway. It was set to english.

So I download AppLocale, and try running the program through that set to english. Still telling me I need to change the location.

What's going on here? The only thing I can think of is when a file couldn't be re-written during the install so I skipped it (it was being used by another process).

which one did you download? the tvsian is no longer installing properly. Smogon's is.

Chnage the language to American English or British english.
Wait, are you running it on Macintosh? It won't work there
Anyway, redownload. It'll only be used for another 6 months.


Oh, and just because I don't think another thread is neccessary, competitor is partially out. Its only on macintosh for now. Last update was 2 weeks ago, they said it would take 2-6 months forr windows.

I have netbattle but I can't well... Battle. I just don't know how to use it.

I clicked on the link on the first post and it didnt work...It just said that windows internet explorer could not find the page you were looking for. How do i fix this?
Can you only battle with first and second generation Pokemon on NetBattle?

http://www.tvsian.info/netbattle/download.htm is the download site. Now, last time I tried installing from there, it didn't work. However, that is just me. I would give you other links, except there are none - Smogon is moving to a new server, and some other place has it forbidden.
Edit: http://www.pokeuniverse.info/nb/download/ is an alternative - that may work better.

Meeps: After you create your team, click start battling, and select a server, with someone on it.
SpacialRender - There is indeed a way to play RBY - I did so just yesterday (or attempted to anyway).

In the team builder, go to Version (Right next to File in the upper left corner), and change the version to RBY, GSC, a different mod file, etc. There are about 20 different mod files available for Advanced (AmazingAmpharos, Smogon's XD purification mod, etc). All you need to be worried about is clicking RBY, RBY with Trades, GSC, GSC with Tradebacks. Or, click "Load new mod file" to load another programming file (IE, AA's mod server, etc)

drifloonbreeder, it says that because smogon is moving to a new sever so the netbattle download is currently unavailable. BUT, the 2nd link provided by peanut lover, pokeuniverse.info/nb/download SHOULD work, but i cant seem to get it to. So, i have some wuestions for peanut lover to see if i can make it work.
1: is a macintosh okay? (for a lot of software it doesnt work)

2: On the download page, it says to different things. 1 is a pic of a computer with pokeball, the other is like a file cabinet. Next to the file cabinet picture it says (ZIP). does it matter which one you download? if so, which one?

3: after i downloaded it, the little downloads window popped up, warned me it has in application, i said thats okay, and then, when the bar filled up, nothing happened. the image of the download is a blank document. please help me because netbattle sounds REALLY COOL!

You're best off either using shoddybattle or RSBot on Smogon's IRC network.

This is SO similar to Shoddy at first, I thought it was so I didn't want to lose all my teams so I didn't install it right away. So it won't delete my Shoddy? No screen shots?
