So I'm just curious as how many people have finished their teams and have been accepted.

ATM I'm 5/6 done and still would like to hammer out my movesets a bit.

Well, my team's just about done. I need maybe an item or two and a TM, but I'm working on that and should have everything gathered shortly. Just trying to catch EP When he's on so we can have our "test" battle. We'll say I'm 96% complete.

I'm not quite finished yet.

So I apologize, but I would like to withdraw from the gym league, I just don't see myself having time in the long run to commit to it.

Maybe I can be backup to another gym or something.

Edit because I can't find the delete button: Someone PM me if I'm accepted, I'm not going to train a team if I won't use it.

Considering how long this thread has been open, without there seeming to be concrete progress (at least in the thread)...it might be helpful for someone on the Psypokes staff to make a separate thread with status reports, deadlines, etc., to push this forward.

*breathes life into thread* So I realize there's probably about a 99% chance this is never going to happen, but just for the hell of it is anyone still interested in this little project? I know I've been ready for a month or so now, and thought I'd ask if anyone else still held interest in this. And please no "I told you so"s or "don't necromance, n00b"s. A simple answer in the affirmative or negative will suffice.

Well now that I see this thread and actually have some idea what Iv's and Ev's are and how to get them right, this sounds like a fun idea. If this is still open, I'd like to try and formulate a team. I have a couple questions though.

1. Is being a Gym Leader reflected under your username?
2. If so, I see there are existing leaders and would like to know what their gym types are so I can try for something different. Is there a list somewhere or can someone give me one?

The "Gym Leader" forum rank is used for moderators. There is not an active gym league currently; all gym types should be posted in this thread.

I have to get the team put together, but do the battle work like the Battle Tower where your Pokémon's level drops to 50?

Pokemon levels can be set at 50 or 100 depending on player choice.

Um, Steel-Eel, you're breaking Item Clause with the two Mystic Waters. You'll have to fix that. Also, if I may make some suggestions:
1. Type-boosting items like Mystic Water, Sharp Beak, Soft Sand, etc. are really not the optimal items to use on a strong competitive team. Stat-boosting berries, the"choice" items, Life Orb, Expert Belt, etc. are all much more desirable over the stuff you have already.
2. Light Ball only works on Pikachu. It doubles his Attack and Special Attack. It doesn't work for Lanturn. If that was supposed to be Light Clay, and it's a typo disregard this. Otherwise you may want to fix that.
3. 5v5 seems a little odd to me. If that's how you want to do it, I'm not going to crush your hopes and dreams, but that sixth slot may be the Pokemon you need to pull out a victory in battle. I would say add another strong Steel type. Since you have three waters. Maybe Steelix or Metagorss. It's your call.

Other than that, welcome to the league that we don't really have set up yet...come on, kids.

Good idea, but we still need someone (preferably a Moderator or Admin) to take charge to set the league up. Right now we just have people who might be able to be gym leaders.

Well, Registeel_Rocks and EvilPenguin were the two who were "running" this a little while ago. If we can ask them to do still then it's all covered. We still need to do test battles like we said before as well. And, Sion9, you mentioned before that you could generate badges people could put in sigs. Is that still a feasible thing we can do? If this takes off (eventually) I think that would be a really nice effect for anyone who takes on this League.

I was thinking of writing a program to put badges together onto a trainer card, so people's sigs don't become over-length from multiple images. I could extend it to keep track of which badges players have received. That would not be difficult, but this signup has been around for months. We need some firm dates as motivation.

A random idea just came to my head. It was random so I don't expect anybody to like or for us to even try it, but what if we battled each other? It would be sort of like a tournament, but we keep track of our victories and losses, and we battle all 11 other candidates for the whatever number of Gym Leaders we can have. If there is a tie for the last 2 gym leaders, we could either just leave it at that, or they could have a battle to see who wins.

Great idea I'm still hoping for Registeel_Rocks, EvilPenguin, or someone else to start selecting dates for this kind of thing.

I guess I'm cool with that. Get the odd feeling I'ma get rolled, however. And the only problem may be that we all know each others Pokemon by now just by looking at the list. We'll just have to be completely objective. And are we going to narrow it down to 8 gyms and an Elite Four? Right now we'd have everyone in a position with some room to spare. Plus, I don't know how many of the people signed up are even still around. I haven't seen KOL40 around the forums for months now. Or JHShadon. Maybe I'm just looking in the wrong places, but I'm not sure about everyone we initially had. And in regards to the tournament, do you guys wanna use your gym teams or any Pokemon goes just to test battling viability? I would think we'd use our Gym Pokemon, but it's up to you kids.

I'll use my Gym Pokemon, just to give them some exercise. But I might train a new Blastoise.
