I figured that out...first you got to either not take it from them the first or so times it happens...or get that pokemon's friendship up & they will gladly give the items they find to you then...I only got assessories though...which are not needed...
Oh & I would like to see both Contests & the Pokethlon (spelling?) both in the 5th Gen...don't want to pick among the 2...

perhaps he's referring to all of the various posts we've made about legends and he accidentally quoted the wrong thing?

ok, here's my seasons weather (sorry bout that Leo) idea, i guess it really all goes here, and not in the themes thread. XD
supposing they went with the seasons idea, they could make it randomly snow in the winter, rain in the spring, be hot and sunny in the summer, and be windy with leaves drifting down randomly in the autumn. there are so many possibilities there. different pokemon appearing depending on the weather, different levels of intensity with the weather such as snowing lightly, snowing steadily, blizzard, hail, drizzling rain, raining steadily, downpouring, sunny day, hot and sunny day, really hot and sunny day (perhaps with the lil shimmering-ness from the heat) windy, really windy with leaves, lots of wind, lots of leaves. and different pokemon appear in each kind of weather. just a couple of ideas. lol. in the autumn, there could be leaf traps where you can fall or get stuck or jump or whatever, into a pile of leaves, kinda like the mud traps and snow traps in Gen IVand in the spring where there is rain and fog, there will be bouncy flowers that you can bounce off of, and waterfall slides that you can go down but its one way, like ledges. and certain parts of this huge region are season exclusive, meaning you cant go to all the region in one season. for all those people who complain that after they fill the pokedex and beat the elite four, they have nothing to do, now they can explore the rest of this HUGE region (optional, of course )and of course winter would have snow traps and snow slides, and icy ponds to skate across, and perhaps if there was a rapids area where the water was moving to quickly to surf, in the winter it would freeze and you could skate across to get to the hidden area over there. it would be a weekly rotation kind of thing, if they made the whole season thing out of whack, it would be too similar to Gen III. of course, i suppose its possible and all if they made it more original than just an exact copy of Gen III. lol, hmm. i need more ideas......how about more areas that always have the same weather, they arent affected by seasons, such as volcanoes, deserts, etc.?

Ryder, I do this SIMPLY because I hate bulk reading.
-weekly season rotations
-season-specific weather, of varying intenstities
--summer: hot and sunny
--autumn: windy(Flyers speed boosted), leaves falling(Grass power), maybe rain
--winter: snow, blizzard/hail, fog?
--spring: rain, fog?
-also, season-specific Pokémon
-perhaps days/areas with no weather?
-seasonal "traps" just to be annoying (marsh/bog, snow, piles of leaves)
-rapids, so you can't surf
-spring
--small waterfalls to be like ledges, one-way and transportational
--bouncy flowers
--I see spring as having "perfect" weather, so not many hindrances
-summer
--droughts
--anything else?
-autumn
--LOTS of rapids
--trees and bushes previously blocking some optional routes might open up?
-winter
--snow banks to block off some optional areas
-"rapids" areas frozen, so you can skate to more optional areas
-we also want/demand(!) more interesting routes, NOT to be affected by seasonal changes
--volcano
--sea (not just one-line water route)
--desert
--forest (but this is a given)
--giant mountain
--historic towers/ruins in each?

Yeah it really is...especially considering the encounter rate when Surfing...& also I would like to actually see the pokemon I'm Surfing on & not some ugly black blob...really...

I agree Lawence.
Same goes for Fly and Rock Climb.
Since they've gone the extra mile to make overworld sprites for all Pkmn,
I really think they should go just one more mile and make the HM animations better.
Either this, or I will welcome with open arms LESS F***ING HM'S!!!

this exactly...& I also want it where you don't need to take a pokemon with HMs to an important fight...Spear Pillar, Victory Road except for Johto, etc...it's hindering & bad...which is why I liked the Johto games so much cause none of this was present there...the need for HMs to get to a fight that is...

Let me clear something up real quick: Ryder wrote: ok, here's my seasons idea, i guess it really all goes here, and not in the themes thread. XD
Really Mr Ryder?
From the themes thread:
LeoTheLion wrote: Hm. Another thing I think they might attempt is the four seasons. Using the DS clock/date they could make things correspond with the seasons and that isn't below The Pokemon Company to do something like that. I'd imagine Pokemon Solstice and Pokemon Equinox would be the names in that case. The legendaries wouldn't be too unfabulous either.
I believe I came up with the seasons idea my friend.

True this. I don't like having insanely weak Pokemon in my party that are HM slaves and I ESPECIALLY don't like teaching useless HM moves (I'm looking at you, Flash and Defog) to my good Pokemon in order to maintain an even team. Surf is an awesome move though.

Cut is useless in battle
Fly CAN be decent, at least in game.
Surf is da bomb if you have a special water-type
Strength is ok
Defog sucks butt
As does Whirlpool
Rock Smash is bad
Waterfall is great if you have a physical water-type
Rock Climb is actually pretty good, I just wish its accuracy was better

Personally I wouldn't mind if they brought the underwater back, they could do a lot with it. With the season based areas it would also work very well. I really really like Equinox and Solstice. x)

I LOVED going underwater!
And though the HM in a moveset sucks for competitive play, it's actually not that bad against NPC's.

really, though, you dont ever need HMs for competitive battling. just for in game stuff. so your main competitive battling team shouldn't really know many HMs, should it? i mean, surf is pretty good and fly sometimes is. but other than that.

Yeah. Therefore, I think they should make them NOT so necessary, or just have less of them, in the handheld game.
I don't know about all y'all, but I like my play-through team to be fierce and effective.

No, scratch that...they should just make Surf & Fly/Dive TMs & get rid of HMs all together & just make for say any pokemon that could learn an HM move able to use it without it having to faulter their movepool...this would also get rid of the issue of not having your whole party at the scene of an important battle like against Cyrus in DPPt or Red in HGSS...I mean no one should have to teach one of their party members Rock Climb & one of them Rock Smash just to get to Red...or Waterfall & Rock Climb & Maybe Strength or & Rock Smash just to get to Spear Pillar...no no no, they need to stop this pattern born in the 4th Gen...

I really, Really like the idea of HM's being different from TM's in that they don't become part of the movepool, itself.
Like, each can still only learn a few, and you can only have four max, but just leave them in the menu.

I hope they balance out the Grass type more. The type is just pitiful. And they say choosing fire among the three adds more challenge? Ha! I'd like to see more people choose grass and struggle with the seven(!!!) types that resist it. And out of those, five(!!) deal double the damage in return. The similar thing could be said with rock (at least defensively) but I think the grass deserves it more since it is part of the Starters.
Yes, I agree, I hope they make your character/avatar customizable.
