Okay, so I'm in Solaceon Ruins - I even have my HM05ing pokemon with me and still no unown.
Am I missing something?

Where exactly are you walking?

If I recall you cannot run into any Unown in the entrance.

Mineral Rabbit, remember where you found HM05? It was in the last room. If you check in the other rooms, you will be able to find Unown. Just don't try looking in the Entrance. There's none there. The Entrance is the room that you entered Solaceon Ruins in, where the wall has written on it, " Top Right, Lower Left, etc.". You can find Unown in every other room other than that first one.

My little brother has been complaining all week about not being able to get the national dex

So i've had to basically go through the whole game again for him (I love you Max Repel, Couldnt have done it without you) xD

i am so glad i already completed both versions of the pokedex on my pearl version now i just need to do the same on my platinum version oh well least i got 2 of arceus.

lol, its sad but i've NEVER completed a pokedex, even once. XD I always end up missing one or two pokemon. thank you nintendo for finally doing something right and making DPPt with wi-fi!!!!!!! I can finally trade for those elusive ones that i end up missing.

I've never particularly wanted to complete my Pokedex. It always seemed to tedious to me. I get rare and strong Pokemon and that's it. I don't care about finding Qwilfish or Seviper in DPPt because they don't stand out as uber cool to me. I go out and raise as many Pokemon that I like to Lv. 100 and then start hoarding legendary Pokemon. I've spent the past three days cycling between Lugia nd Mew on the GTS so I can get lots of those...

Yeah, I'm not one much for completing my Pokedex...I usually have better things to do...

I need to get rotom on the SINNOH pokedex
I don't know how to find him because you can only get him with the national pokedex!!!

Need to specify which version you have, that being said I think it's Platinum cause Rotom is only available in DP after you become champion & in Platinum as soon as you get HM01 Cut...

It is in the Old Chateau which is located in Eterna Forest & is located in the room with the TV in it on the 2nd floor in 1 of the rooms accessible by going to the 2nd floor & going north to enter the hall that has multiple room entrances in it(only at night though)(this is for all 3 games)...

It didn't?!...cause that's where it is...Oh yeah, if you haven't seen & spoken to Eterna City's Gym Leader at the area where you need to cut to get to the Old Chateau then that has to happen first or it won't appear I believe & you do need to meet all the pokemon in the Sinnoh Dex to get the National Dex, just that in DP, Rotom is not 1 of them & are you sure that it is one of them in Platinum for that matter?...

Oh & you actually have to click on the TV for it to appear as it is in the TV...

That isn't weird cause Rotom can take control & the form of electric appliances & travel through curcuits as well...which makes sense since it's a Electric/Ghost Type combo & all, I agree though that Game Freak can be outrageously weird sometimes...

Yeah they can but it does add to the end effect of the games. And aso, they are creatures you battle and catch in balls and give candy to get bigger/stronger, somehow i think it was weird from the beginning XD

As long as you have Platinum and either HeartGold or SoulSilver, you do have access to all 482.

This thread is pertaining specifically to the Sinnoh Dex before it is upgraded to the National Dex post story in DPPt, in HGSS, the Sinnoh Dex is non existant...

Ok, I'm having a problem. I've seen 208, and I still cannot get the national dex. I don't want to go legendary hunting, but I have a feeling I'm gonna need to. Can I get any pointers on it?

In order to obtain the national dex, you will need to have encountered all of the pokemon listed in the opening post.

Which ones are you missing?

completing the sinnoh dex is fairly easy, just keep going to old grassy areas and you might find new pokemon. if you have wi-fi, the GTS is awesome for this purpose, it is the best thing to be introduced to pokemon!!!!!!!!
