How are you supposed to get pokemon like the 3 starters in GSC if you can't trade between GSC and FR LG RSE? I only have Emerald, Fire Red and Red. So I know i'm going to have to start over my game in FR to get Squirtle and Bulbasaur, but how do I get the others? the only way I know is to cheat but I don't like that method.

After you "catch them all" in pokemon emerald, professor oak or someone gives you one of the johto starters

You can get a lot of the missing Johto pokemon from Pokemon Colosseum.

I think it was Professor Birch. Not really sure.

yeah one of the professors gives you one of the jhoto starters but i think you have to have your whole pokedex completed.

You need all 200 Pokemon in the Hoenn Pokedex, then Prof. Birch will let you choose between the three Johto starters.

Yeah you can get all three in pokemon colloseum. One in the beggining and the other two at the end. You can also get them by clearing mountain battlle without taking a break. You get to pick one then if you do it again you get to pick another one and so on. As said Prof. Birch gives you one when you complete the Hoenn Dex which is quite hard.

Just gonna brush some life into this post, hope you dont mind. Ive been wondering a thing a lot tho.. checked the different Kanto pokemon you can get on emerald (I have all 3 games from that gen btw) and this site (Originally why i joined this site to ask) is the only one to claim that Onix is obtainable on victory road.. First floor.. Ive searched a lot, both in game and on the web.. All other sites say that its not obtainable at all in the gem-generation. that you in fact have to trade from another generation.. Just wondered if anyone had anything to say about that... If its true or not, and why you think its possible to get there Would love to get a onix/steelix you see...

to end this the way you can in fact catch them all in emerald is by trading with Leaf Green and Fire Red and with sapphire and ruby.

OR you can trade them to fire red, start allover again and choose another one of the JOTHO-starters. BUT THAT WILL BORE THE S**T OUT OF YOU
