okay, so with help from Magikarps_Beast on the gradient backgrounds, I made this.

EDIT: i'm giving credit where credit's due, M_B. and i added the transparency manually via GIMP, but for some reason, even thought i reuploaded it to photobucket, it won't show the transparency. *shrugs*

good job. I'm gonna start trying to figure out how to do signatures and stuff one of these days, and this is actually really good. you don't really need to give credit though, lol. i just used google so.

EDIT: Fossil Siggeh!! I played around with the airbrush a little more this time, so as to give it that more dirty look. It definitely made Kabutops and Cradily blend in a little more, which I liked.

sorry for the double-post, but i made a non-pokemon siggy this time (in case you haven't noticed, i'm trying to improve on my skills; sigs allow for a bit more creativity, so that's where i'm focusing right now).

This one's a basic blue gradient background with the character Starkiller (from the Force Unleashed Series) over it. I saw the awesome background, and wanted to use it for something; the pokemon one i made i deleted because it was trash, and i remembered that for force unleashed 2, Starkiller has twin blue lightsabers, so i picked him. Not bad, I haven't seen anyone here in a while making sigs. You may want to blend the contrasts and tones together. But other than that good start.

Easy, just add some gradient maps or photofilters (don't know if pfilter is in gimp though). Or play with with contrast settings. Anyway I hope I helped.

Okay, on this one, it's just some quickly found pics with multiple layers, and, wait for it: IT HAS ANIMATION!! i know, epic right?? (okay, not really, but i'm still proud of it ) So this is for the new War for Cybertron game, and features Megatron and Optimus (optimus is stretched, but the initial pic was crap anyways so i don't mind). the point of this one was the animation, so i'm happy with it. on my next practice sig, i'll try doing what DragonSpear advised.

also, you can either take a screen shot of the psydex sprites, or just google images "_____ ____sprite" (first gap, pokemon's name, second gap, what game/generation). Here's also a good site for getting sprites:
