I'd prefer it if you pay later so I don't lose track of payments and things like that, but that's really more of a preference rather than a requirement.

The maximum limit is 200PB, however the minimum increase is 5PB, or otherwise multiples of 5 (ie, 10, 15, 20.. etc..) The point of this rule is just to prevent people from increasing bids by 1 PB (or similar) every time. However, because DragoBoy has increased his bid to 200, that is the maximum limit, and therefore he cannot be outbid.

Well this is the first time I've run something like this, so some things might go a little differently than expected, but in the interest of not having too many rules that people will just skim through, I've decided to adopt rules that are easier to understand, instead of making people read through a large chunk of text just to make sure they want to do something that no one else wants to do. I don't really want to be writing a whole list of trivial rules (in many cases in which scenarios would be unlikely..), so I apologize in advance if you've read something and I haven't been very clear on it. I do hope that Ivysaur serves you well though, and good luck.

Just want to point it out, Ninetales is erroneously in both Currently Sponsored and Currently Free lists.

Being able to put 200 PB on a Pokemon at once so no one else could even attempt to outbid seems a little unfair, but that's just my opinion. In any case, I'll put 20PB on my Arcanine just to...feel safe, I guess?

Yes, however just remember that I've lifted the 200 PB restriction, so increasing your bid to 200 doesn't guarantee you'll get them.. However, it is a good precaution. Let me know what you want to do.

NEW: please note that sponsorship will close in 24 hours. If you already haven't done so, now is your last chance to sponsor! Still got some great Pokemon left, including 4th seeded Nidoking who went through prelim stages garnering a vote from every player, popular grass starter Venusaur in 9th seed, 11th seeded Nidoqueen and of course Dewgong, the 16th seeded contestant.

After the sponsorhip closes, I'll take about a day to draw up the brackets, and then we can start knocking Pokemon out, and seeing some good old showdowns.

THE KNOCKOUT BRACKETS:

Each Pokemon are split up into 4 different quarters, based on their seedings. The seeds all avoid each other in the first round.

NORTH QUARTER | EAST QUARTER | SOUTH QUARTER | WEST QUARTER

The winners of each quarter are all semifinalists, and the semifinals bracket will be redrawn.

ROUND 1 EXAMPLE
Since round 1 matches are in groups of 4 as opposed to 1v1, there are some round specific rules for these matches only.

ARENAS: Each match will be played on different TYPE ARENAS. This means that certain Pokemon will be given advantages, depending on their types. For example, a match might be between Venusaur, Flygon, Muk and Breloom. They're to be battling it on on the GROUND ARENA. Prior to the match, advantages/disadvantages will be applied to them. Venusaur, taking neutral damage, starts off on +0, Flygon has immunity to Ground (through its ability Levitate) so starts on +3, Muk has a weakness so starts on -1, and Breloom has a resistance so starts on +1. If, say, Magnemite was also in that group, because of the double weakness to ground, he would start on -2. Typically however, I will figure this all out.

So to get your Pokemon through to the next round, you have to vote for them through! This can be done simply by posting in the topic, (hopefully together with your reasons!) The Pokemon with the most votes at the end of a certain timeframe will advance to the next round. Remember that if you have sponsored a Pokemon, a vote for them becomes +3 instead of +1. I think about 4 matches will be running at once.

EXTRA VOTES:
Typically, everyone gets one vote each, however you will be able to buy extra votes. These can be bought via the Psybucks system, at 20PB for extra/anonymous votes. You must pay before the votes are counted. These are capped at 100PB per Pokemon for Round 1. This must be done through PM and not this thread, to myself. (Triple sponsor vote values do not apply for extra votes).

I'll leave this thread open for about 24 hours for questions, before I start the first round. In the meantime.. are you happy with your draw? Who do you think is your biggest threat?
