Excuse me, I have been diagnosed with ADHD since I was 9. I know what it is like.

I think claiming ADD is a bad excuse.
I don't think that about ADHD.

(I'm firmly convinced that ADD doesn't actually exist.)

ADHD is never finite. ADD used to exist, now it is known as ADHD Type IV, I think? I don't know the correct number, but it does exist.

I was under the impression that they were the same thing. Same cause, different reactions to it or something like that.

There are three types of ADHD, and the predominately inattentive type is what people refer to as ADD.

Talking to people on the internet has caused me severe amounts of psychological damage.

Kids can't be blamed. Thats silly. The part of the brain that comprehends social interactions is directly linked to the frontal cerebral cortex, or frontal lobe. It is this part of the brain that affects your decision making skills. This stays immature till between the ages of 21-25, which is one of the reasons why drinking age in america is 21. This applies to everyone, even if you don't think it does.

If you are withheld from social environment for a large part of your early life than this part of your brain doesn't develop as fast as it should, and most people never recover. This of course is not their fault. At such a young age it is their parents responsibility to push them into social situations.

If anyone reading this is under the age of twenty, than I can say without much doubt that your brain still underdeveloped. ADD/ADHD or not. If you would like some material to learn more about what I said there are countless journals written on the subject, but if you want an easy to digest version than you can click Here for a video by Ze Frank on the teen brain, or you can click here for a more comprehensive article on how development of the frontal lobe can directly affect social behavior.
