Attention all Bird Keepers, Pilots, Sky Trainers, and even Falkner wannabes: Now is your chance to shine and fly higher than ever before in the first Unofficial Psypokes Sky Battle Tournament! The rules are simple, bring your best flying and levitating Pokemon and knock your opponents out of the sky!

Rules:

1. All battles are to take place on Pokemon Showdown.

2. Battles will be 6v6 singles with sky battle rules. Only eligible Pokemon and moves may be used. For this tournament, the lists found on Bulbapedia's Sky Battle page will be the official lists. On top of that, Smogon OU bans and clauses will be in effect. See this thread for those bans and clauses. Megas that lose their Flying Type upon mega evolution are allowed.

3. If a Pokemon that has Levitate and an alternate ability, it must use Levitate (eg. Duskull must use Levitate and cannot use Frisk).

4. Participants may change their teams as often as they wish.

5. Put a smilie of a Flying Type Pokemon in your sign up post to prove that you read the rules.

6. If a discrepency arises, a replay of the battle shall be pmed to me. My ruling will be final.

7. If there are less than 8 participants, the tournament will be round robin. If there are 8 or more participants, the tournament will be single elimination. There will be a minimum of 4 particpants and maximum of 16 participants.

8. Should the tournament be single elimination and there is an odd number of participants, the participant with the highest Psypoke Battle Rating will recieve byes until the quarter finals or an even number is reached, at which time matches will be randomized.

9. This tournament will apply to the Psypoke Battle Ratings.

10. Each round will last for one week. Should a battle not get completed, both players be active, and neither forfeits, the battle will be decided by coin flip.

11. Refrain from posting replays of battles until after the tournament is complete. Replays sent to me for judgement will only be seen by me.

12. When reporting the result of a battle, include the score.

13. Have fun!

Sign Ups

Sign-ups will last until February 2 or when there are 16 participants. Should there be less than 4 particpants as of February 2, sign-ups will be extended by 1 week.

Include the Showdown username that you will be using in your sign-up post. I would recommend registering that name if you haven't already.

So I wasn't aware of this at the beginning of this tourny, but Smogon has a Sky Battles tier with the exact same banlists as what we are using. Not a big deal but it'll make sure that all our teams our legal.

I'm not saying you have to use, I just thought I'd make you aware of it.
