Well, as I promised, here are some select photos out of over 600 that I took on my trip to Italy. On some images in which something really BIG is photographed, I've indicated on the photo where there are people so as to provide some scale, so that you can really understand just how BIG some of these things are.
Okay, so... This was in this woodwork shop-type thing in Rome. I just thought that the concept of a wooden motorcycle was really cool.
This is a picture of me ( ) in front of the monument of Victor Emmanuel, in honour of the first king of Italy.
This is a photo of the outside of the Colosseum. It was a cloudy day, so the sunlight that bathed the edge of the Colosseum in golden light showed up really well in the photo.
Here's a 180 degrees panoramic photo of the interior of the Colosseum. The people standing around the edge serve as good scale to show you just how BIG it is.
Ice cream shops enjoy showcasing some flamboyant ice cream cone constructs, but this one really stood out. That's a lot of cones.
These piles of ice cream were SO high, I just had to take a photo of them.
This was a beautiful tree we found in the tuscan countryside, which had these red flowery vines climbing up some of it. It was a really cool tree.
Here's a view of the rooftops of Rome, with St. Peter's Basilica (the Vatican) towering over them all, in the far background.
Here's a panoramic photo of the front of St. Peter's Basilica, with the Square.
The sunlight that poured out through these windows cast really strong beams, and it looks cool in the photo.
Notice the people standing right under the archway on the right. This place is HUGE!
This photo is from the base of the inside of the dome. It was... high. VERY high. You can see by just how tiny the people in the photo are. The photo also showcases the size of the Basilica pretty well.
Finally, this is a view from the outside of the top of the dome, looking out towards St. Peter's Square and the city.

You must have had a really good time. Those pictures show that Rome is a place worth visiting. One question, however, did you go alone or with a friend?

Last time I went to Italy was when I was 2 years old, so I don't remember much. Nice pictures, though I'm pretty sure the ice cream is called gelato over in Italy.

Very cool, Nido. Lol, if Hippie Chick was still around she'd have a fit of "I"VE BEEN THERE!!!"ness. She loves pointing to photos of Greece and Italy and yelling about how she's been there

Hehe, you posted pictures as promised.
The pictures are great, but somehow my favourite one is the one with the tree with the red vine-like thingies. It's cute

omg that Ice Cream
That picture of St Peter's Basilica reminded me of a photo I took while in France. There's not a lot of modern sky scrapers, most of the skyline is just old architecture. It looks awesome.
I'm also interested to see what the Latin reads

My digital camera has a setting called "Panorama". It encodes the images in a different way, and in the display the camera helps you align the images up. Later, when you download the images, there's a special program called Cannon PhotoStitch, which came with my digital camera software, which decodes the panoramic images and "stitches" them together to make one big image. It blurs the connection points to make it seem seamless, too. It's quite convenient. I suggest you search through your digital camera's settings or menu, Eighteen, and see if you can find a 'Panorama' option.

[color=#FFCC33]*Sigh* I wish I had the luxury of travelling outside the country. The only country I've ever been to outside the U.S. is Canada. I've got Italian blood in me.... L'Italia
